    I think my issue is that I just can't get with the style of storytelling Chinese stories have. It's a lot of exposition and waffle about stuff that doesn't really matter occasionally punctuated with cool shit. I always think they should do it the opposite way and do/show cool shit then explain it if people give a crap. And yeah a lot more variety in character names because my eyes glaze over after hearing like 3 in a row and I have no idea what anyone's name is unless they're in my team.

    Having said that, the later chapters (I think from 4 onward) did improve a lot, the story is still confusing and throws around lots of shit I don't care about but it focused up in a good way. If they can clean it up I might give the story more of a chance next patch (there's a lot of issues specifically when watching cutscenes which doesn't help) but honestly being able to skip everything is great.

    As for the subject of skipping, Genshin is finally adding it in it seems like. I came across a few dramatic threads on reddit from deranged fans crying over it lol

    Got Verina from the Discount banner (took all 40 pulls though) so I guess I don't really need to reroll. I'll throw pulls at Jiyan's banner but I might just grab Calcharo from the selector and aim for Yinlin instead.

    I know she's not popular but I also kinda want the monk girl.

    I have Jianxin, and she's pretty good at open-world stuff with her AoE, heals, and shields. Doesn't do great single target damage though, which is where Calcharo comes in. I'm building up the selector banner for Verina, as Jianxin/Baihzi are over-kill for starting out. I'll pick up Yinlin when her banner comes and Skip Jiyan, who works best with Mortefi.

    I got Encore from my 40 summon as mentioned, took Calch from the selector cause I'm pretty much just pulling off vibe here, though I am choosing the healer lady for my 80 Beginner thing, because I figure having a good healer might be a good idea. Beyond that, in a game like this, I'm just going to pull for who catches my eye lol, I imagine the tier list is going to be a cascade of powercreep in no time so like, not getting invested.

    Edit Also I know it sounds like I'm hard on this games dialogue, and I am, it deserves it, but (Very limited, vague spoilers)

    but I just finished up the "final quest" of launch and boy howdy there are uh, a lot of unskippable dialogues in it, and its not even like, tastefully spread out. At one point it was "Fodder > Dialogue > Fodder > Dialogue > Jump puzzle > Dialogue". One of the conversations was, and I'm paraphrasing a 3 minute cutscene here

    CharA: I'm going to stay back and hold these guys off, you're stronger, you go ahead and fight big bad.
    CharB: Okay, we'll go on ahead and fight big bad.
    CharA Steps forward a little bit
    CharA: Okay, I'm staying back, i'll hold them off, you guys go ahead.

    Redundantly bad and unskippable.


    Thankfully, the gameplay is awesome and there are redeeming cutscenes, usually the ones with no dialogue... The final mission was also still very good. It felt a bit short tbh, i mean realistically if you cut out the very slow and excessive dialogue dumps that happened the main story is probably about 2 hours of gameplay max. But I've got a >lot< of exploring and side quests to do still.

    Or do a 4/4/1/1/1 instead, for mid game, using Crit Main stat on the 4s. Alternatively, just farm the generic ATK set as abyss lets you swap echos before stages. Bit of a crap shot, but merging echos also gives you a shot as well.

    I'm databank 15, Unity 32 atm, so I can start getting gold echos, but eventually, everything will drop as golds, so it's going to get better with time.

    It's the current event. There's only 3* or better, and are up to Gold, so a 3* Gold echo is the bet you can do. Your first link is basically an Epic 3* relic, if you go by Genshin standards; won't go through the rest though. Personally looking for a gold 3* Electro crane chance, but not a big deal atm as I'm already able to get gold echos.

    Found out today there are Shinies in this game, called "Phantoms". Alternate color versions with very low spawn rates on all enemies. Realistically whoever decided to add those is a fucking genius, adds an extra layer to farming echoes off normal enemies.

    I'd also like to point out I really enjoy that while some stats are hidden behind bosses (Crit Rate/Dmg I know for sure), the fact I can go out and farm Gold(5*) Tier gear on normal enemies and get good sets and items from that, and farm Attack% or Elemental Damage bonus, is a huge plus. means even when I'm out of energy if I want to play I can pick the right area and farm certain sets for 5* equipment and that is awesome for me.

    Also I love that there are several side quests, the green ones, that actively impact the world. Like doing those quests can change certain areas, its such a nice detail for a game like this. And one last gush, i really do enjoy the combat system. The fact I can take on enemies 50+ Levels above me simply by learning and dodging is so damn souls-like that its addicting trying to get better and outplay the game itself. Challenge bosses that are level 90+ Can be done as soon as you unlock them if you're patience and are good at dodging.

    Learned on reddit as well 100% clear of the map (i'm assuming all side quests too) will give you about 18,000 Currency, which is about 110 Pulls give or take, probably over to 120 with achievements. The games been insanely generous with launch rewards, so I'm wondering what the F2P economy will look like long term, gotta keep an eye on events, I hope its good, cause I really like this game and don't want to feel driven away like I did with Genshin due to the heinously bad f2p economy.

    Not sure how they will approach this in here, but Kuro's other gatcha PGR is very F2P friendly, at least if you only want 1 copy of each new character, which is enough to clear most stuff, however the game also has a competitive element and leaderboards, which require dupes to unlock full chara potential

    Started getting around to clearing out loot on the map and grinding data levels and realizing just how bad the camera and auto targeting can be. Like camera constantly inside of a tree during a fight and auto targeting things that are down the street and not involved in the current fight. Unlocked the ability to get gold tier echoes. Did find the shiny turtle a few days ago, but no luck with the other one. Was hoping the in game tools would negate the need for an interactive map, but no such luck. I do like the ability to track down mobs to hunt though.

    I just don't know how any game with controller support can ever launch without the ability to invert the y-axis camera.

    Using the lockon feature is helpful for multi enemy fights, but It seems like the targeting system in this game could use a lot of work. It seems to target the enemy most in line with the direction you're aiming/firing rather than prioritizing closest target, so if you hold right and theres any enemy 20 years away in the direction of right, it'll target that instead of the enemy thats right next to you but slightly north of right.

    They should rework the system entirely to have a more conal targeting system and it selects the closest target to you in the direction you're facing/attacking instead. But idk, maybe they'll get around to that.

    Yeah the lock-on is weird, why can't you basically tab target just by flicking the right stick around like in any other action game with similar lock-on lol

    That's going to be most of my feedback because it's just weird to not have basic switch target controls. Also letting us remap controller sooner rather than later would be great, having your map be inaccessible unless it's by short cut wheel is dumb for an open world game.

    Rank 34 and out of quests/exp to pump level to 35 for 20 of the last 30 pull for the regular pick banner, but I'll be done with that in a few days. Gold 3 cost echos, with matching Regen/Elemental damage for the set that dropped, is the real grind until Rank 40, when the 90% drop rate kicks in, but even still, that's a big RNG grind. I hate that you can't filter locked echos in the Databank Merge tool.

    They announced that Yinlin and patch 1.1 will be released earlier, which is most likely due to ZZZ being released on the date they planned 1.1 before. They will also hand out 10 more pulls as "compensation" for that change, haha.

    Also giving us like 20 stamina refresh and saying they will be implementing changes to alleviate echo farming etc

    A TLDR from reddit regarding the next patch.
    • Increased drops from Tacet Field in 1.1
    • Reduced Shell costs for Echo levels in 1.1
    • Introducing a Waveplate storage system in future update (Meaning, you do not need to log in every day, it will accrue Waveplates past 240 limit.)
    • Double Echo Yield Event this patch; Double rewards 3 times a day
    • 1 million Shell Credits due to an Echo recycle bug
    • Compensate all Rovers with Crystal Solvents ×20 (1 Crystal Solvent = 60 Waveplates)
    • x5 Forging Tides (Limited Weapon banner pulls) for the Verdant Summit translation error (Not much, but it's something I guess??)
    • New Event coming this patch (Astrites ×800 + Morphable Elite Class Echo I + Morphable Elite Class Echo II + Premium Tuner + Premium Sealed Tube)
    • June 6, 2024, at 10:00 (UTC+8). This release will include the Companion Story "Solitary Path" for Resonator Yinlin, the Featured Resonator Convene event "When Thunder Pours" for Yinlin, the limited-time challenge event "Alloy Smelt" along with many more spin-off events and features.
    • Wuthering Waves Version 1.0 will last until June 28, 2024, at 05:59 (UTC+8), after which we will schedule a server downtime and implement the update for Wuthering Waves Version 1.1 "Thaw of Eons", which will include a new area "Mt.     I know some of the "compensation/rewards" should be dropping tomorrow. I thought I saw June 3rd as the date anyway on some of the rewards.

    Personally I hope they eventually rework their Tower/endgame systems to not have those time restrictions as the reward walls, I think it was just a lazy Copy>paste from Genshin's tower system which sucked there too, but here all it does is invalidate any new unit that isn't a DPS power creep, and for this game where the skill ceiling of combat is really high due to the dodge mechanic being so fucking good, it just makes no sense for endgame content to be a DPS race, literally just eliminated 80% of the games skill in exchange for "Hope you got good DPS teams lol".

    Basically, I think most of their endgame content should revolve around just clearing the content, rather through brute force with high DPS, or skilled play with your favorites/learning enemy mechanics. Just straight up don't have those 3 tiered "clear reward" systems most mobile games have with a forced time restriction creating a stale meta of power creep. Make the content difficult, but if you clear it, you clear it and get all the rewards. In this way, you still want to pull for heroes who make the kills quicker because who wants to spend 5 minutes on a fight, but at the same time if you're good enough you can still win anyway.

    I know its a balance but I don't think they'll have any problem selling new heroes if they made endgame content clearable by just getting good.

    Had a boss use a special move and teleport itself out of bounds, forcing the fight to reset 3 times in a row. Really hope they fix that. ><
