xbox launch announced for July, worth trying out?
initially but kinda lost interest after awhile, and with it being an older one some of the lacking QoL irked me, mainly HSR/ZZZ atm
Definitely a lot more QoL here, the first region can feel like a real slog though (but I believe you can skip it nowadays)
alright, good enough for me to check it out then. is the gacha framework pretty comparable to a hoyoverse game?
It was a fun experience, its similar to genshin in-so-far that its an open world mobile RPG, outside of that I found the combat more interesting, at least as you get more characters I suppose. Also a lot more fun traversal methods starting on the second continent. I haven't picked it up in a while though, but I played it for months and enjoyed it, just those types of "Need your full attention" games are harder for me to sit down with these days.
I don't remember it being too different. I stopped playing right before Shorekeeper was released and it was okay. Flashier battle system more like Zenless at the time, but a lot of the "end" game fights were play perfect or die in one hit type of stuff so I dipped.
Some of the Final tiers of the Challenge content was very "Dodge or die" and took me a few trial and error attempts, but like, that was around my Elden Ring time so I was kind of used to it lol.
I played all the way until the third continents story end point and I really enjoyed that area. The initial areas were much more of a slog for sure though, can't deny that.
Characters are a 50/50, weapons are guaranteed. You can also buy up to 2 dupes of the current limited characters from the coral shop (the pull refund currency).
You are going to want to pull weapons for characters you get because generally the 4* weapon options blow ass and the Standard 5* weapons are varying levels of useful (Sword are Gun are good, the others are pretty mediocre).
good to know
I'm still enjoying it. The new region is pretty fun to explore, other than a few motorcycle parkour challenges that can burn. rofl The story is a matter of preference, but you'd better get used to characters getting forgotten quickly outside of their patch.
Soo, about that. The new standard weapons they released are a bit better across the board. I know the gauntlets were previously crap but now they're decent.
Everything else people have said is on point. I rotate it in my pool of games sometimes.
Though I can't help but chuckle at them calling the main character "Rover".
Collab went live tonight, really enjoying it so far. Got both characters and the quest is pretty enjoyable.
Good luck anyone pulling on the collab banners. I'm not that attached to Edgerunners and I think they've set these banners up in a pretty stupid way, so I'm just gonna get Lucilla in 5 days and then start saving for the next region and potential Yang Yang alt coming.
Holy crap, that ending just broke me. This crossover is very spoilerific.
