Stupid question mildly related, but is there an exclusion for a foul ball thats got some height and is going down the line? The batter is expected to run that out. Theres no way he can run back to the plate, dust off his bat and get set in 8 seconds or whatever. Or does the clock start at a certain time?
i think they said there’s “common sense” calls, since in your scenario the fielders have to reset too.
