This alone should be enough justification for keeping the team in Oakland.

2023 MLB Season Thread: Hurry the Fuck Up

An Oakland outfielder almost robbed IKF of a homerun but the glove said nope! lmao

Man, it is mind boggling that no matter how tomorrow's game plays out, unless it's 18+ innings of 0 run ball, the A's are going to enter July with a team ERA above 6.

It blows my mind that that is true and that the Royals still have a worse record.

Royals actually have a .284 win percentage coming into today at 23-58

    A's are .256 at 21-61

Yeah I just double checked, that heater the A's were on didn't keep them out of last for as long as I thought, lol.

Royal's having a worse record makes sense. It goes back to me saying that a starting pitchers wins and losses mean nothing because the run support he gets influences it; it's not just about how good or bad he does. The A's may have a shit ERA, but they must be scoring more runs in general, and winning more games due to this, even if they give up many runs to their opponents too.

Who has the best ERA on the A’s right now? Therein lies your answer.

I think the only pitcher actually qualified to count is JP Sears with a smoking 4.43 ERA

Miller and Blackburn have only 4 and 6 starts respectively, and are the only starting pitchers lower Sears him at 3.38 and 3.77

That JP Sears guy does sound promising as a Yankee.

Coming into today, the Royals have scored 301 runs and allowed 436, for a -135 run differential.
The A's have scored 286 and allowed 526 for a -240 run differential.

Any metric you use, the A's have been making the Royals look like world burners stats wise. A's are 30th in multiple offense and pitching categories, with total SB's being the only one at the middle of the pack. Everything else is like 27th or 26th out of 30 teams.
