General Wrestling IX: Gomez Addams Appreciation Thread

Per an interview TK gave earlier this week, they're effectively folding the NJPW Strong, ROH World Title and whatever the Continental Classic Belt will be into one packaged deal. It'll be defended like a normal title across all 3 promotions over the course of the year, and at the end of every year it will become the prize for the tournament winner (with the current holder being an automatic entrant).

It'd be nice to see some guys more on the outside of the roster in it, but for a first time lineup it looks pretty solid. Anyone in Blue block via Brody King will be a super fun matchup, Bryan vs Claudio, Eddie vs Claudio, Bryan vs Garcia, Mox vs Swerve (Mox is a noted huge mark for Swerve from his time as Killshot), Jay White vs Swerve, tons of great matchups

Oh shit, this one hadn't even occurred to me. As much as I want to see Eddie in the finals, I think it'll end up being Swerve vs Brody. It's a fresh matchup, both are over as all fuck, and they will just straight up murder each other. Though I could also fuck with a Mark Briscoe vs Claudio final. There are so many awesome matchups here both within the blocks, and across them. There are really only 2 guys who I can't really see making it to the finals, which is impressive in a field of 12. (In B4 it ends up being Andrade vs Rush)

I can't see Danielson not being in the finals and tbh I kinda expect him to win the whole thing. He clearly doesn't want to be AEW world champion at this stage of his career but a final run with the belt that originally "made" him is a good way to go out.

On the gold side I have no idea. Jay White feels most likely but maybe they'll cash in on Swerve, though I'd prefer he be in the world title picture once MJF and Samoa Joe finish up. I don't know what the long term payoff for MJF and the Devil angle is supposed to be, but the thought of mega heel Swerve vs uber babyface Ospreay at Wembley next year seems way too good to pass up

TBS Title, only Dynamite

ROH belts never leave ROH. You've got Ronda Rousey! Build the company around her to get more eyeballs on it and do some actual promoting of the promotion.

Doing it that way means no AEW show ever has more than 4 Titles on it and they each offer something different flavor wise to hook fans.
