2 star wars in 7 months?? 3 in 1.5 years? I don't see these dates holding lol
Ya, the May date might hold… the others, no way.
Between this and marvel delays I’m gonna be like 45 before all these things come out, probably die of heart attack before I get to see them all boooooo
Surely this interview with one of the film's new directors won't trigger the incels to anger, right?

WelpDaisy Ridley‘s Rey is coming back to the big screen in a new “Star Wars” movie directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (“Ms. Marvel”) and written by Steven Knight (“Peaky Blinders”). The film makes Obaid-Chinoy the first woman and first person of color to direct a “Star Wars” feature film. “I’m very thrilled about the project because I feel what we’re about to create is something very special,” Obaid-Chinoy recently told CNN. “We’re in 2024 now, and it’s about time that we had a woman come forward to shape a story in a galaxy far, far away.”
To me its much less "wow female director" and much more "I don't trust anything Filoni isn't heavily involved with" regarding Star Wars right now.
There are about 100 better ways to get that line across though considering we just had a trilogy with a literal woman as the lead and the original trilogy had Leia. I get it's about the director, but its still terribly worded.
The best thing for Star Wars might be to push the timeline forward like 1000 years and start fresh with all the Skywalkers as legends and a completely different-looking galaxy.
As long as they have a clear plan for a trilogy and don't go back and forth between movies, especially based on incel rage, it will be fine.
With this director and Rey coming back, they know they are gonna get that anyway.
Well these movies are not going to be a trilogy though, they are all stand alone films depicting different characters and timeframes
Even better. I am on board.
Kennedy’s handling of the movie department has been horrific… kinda shocked this one is actually moving forward
No, it was the fact that ROS was a movie worse than the prequels.
The whole "response to Last Jedi killed the next movie" thing is idiotic considering the response to Last Jedi couldn't even kill Last Jedi. Last Jedi still made $2 billion. What Disney did in trying to appease the loudest morons complaining about Last Jedi killed ROS. Because it left us with a trilogy that had no cohesiveness whatsoever.
There was also the pretty entertaining comic series Legacy set like 130 years after the original trilogy. Still tied into the whole Skywalker bit since the main character is a descendant of Luke, but the separation from the vast majority of existing lore let the story breathe pretty well.
Plus the added fun of the said descendant of Luke being a drug addict and bounty hunter.
