On march 21, 3 weeks ago, the Bruins had 113 points to the Canes 100 with 12 games to go. At this point, they could coast to the finish line and would likely have still won the Presidents trophy. In those last 12 games, they went 11-1-0 with wins over Tampa, Carolina, Toronto, New Jersey, their only loss against Nashville. They had a lot of fodder in that run too (Mtl x2, Lumbus, Pittsburgh, Phily). But at the end of the day, they havent played a meaningful game in 3 weeks, and still wound up 11-1-0 with wins against top playoff teams.

Theres a lot of outrage on the outrage machine over the 3 days off between games 5 and 6 in the LA/Edm series. A quick 5 second search of the staples center schedule on those days gives the answer why there is 3 days off between games.

The problem is two NBA teams playing in the same home arena.

Theres no chance of double headers though because the tight arena booking takes place on Thu/Fri. No ones running playoff games in the afternoon on those days.
