I dont have milliseconds here, but the time between the whistle blowing and the contact is less than a second. I believe the standard the DOPS set is 0.75 seconds to be considered late. I think its late and should have been penalized as such (if anything to keep the game temperature in check), but I dont think its "WELL after the whistle".
They can't help it
THEY WANT FLORIDA

Typical Canadians throwing punches after the whistlewill the clowns on BG call it out?

Totally cool for Bennett to be punching someone in the head who's down on the ice. Very fine.
That Tkachuk sure is tough, maybe next time he'll push someone who's taller than 5' on skates.
Schenn is going to get paid somewhere in this league, no more sweetheart one year deals.
Florida is kinda dirty, huh
Refs did my panthers dirty with that opening goal
Man the Oilers. One game they stink, then the next they look like world beaters.

Well there's that at least.

7 minutes to go in a 4-1 game and the ref is giving offsetting misconducts to non-plugs...idk man, thats still plenty of time
Should be a 1 game suspension there.
So if Florida was dirty for playing to the whistle, whats Vegas?
This is where I really wish the league had a rule about penalties in the last two minutes carrying over or something.
Pietrangelo was trying to to break Draisaitl's arm with with that slash. Epic fight to end it too.

Why does Canada have a collective stick up their ass over physical playoff hockey when it goes against their guys? The Pietreangelo slash is objectively more of a DOPS-worthy play, but Leafs fans are brigading any r/Hockey posts about the Florida checks on Kampf and the hit on Reilly with 3 seconds left, and you'd think Sam Bennett was the next coming of Matt Cooke. Someone said they hoped someone ruins Sam Bennett's future quality of life with the way hes playing and they got hundreds of up votes.
But if you ask those same fans any time outside of April-June what makes hockey's championship so great, they'd say because hockeys so tough and to win the cup you have to go to war for 2 months etc etc etc
Im new to the sport and the one thing I always hear everyone is excited for is the physicality of playoff hockey and going to the mat for a best of 7 over four series. Most of the complaining is on clean hits less than a second from a whistle, or borderline hits that they've been letting go since round 1.
I'm not seeing anything different other than people are upset it's the fLoRiDa PaNtHeRs upsetting everyone's favorite sports teams
If anything the cats are doing a better job of it cause we haven't had a suspension from our play yet. We have had Lomberg out for awhile thanks to a bullshit check that wasn't called, but you don't see us still bitching about it incessantly on social media. I get it tho, their favorite team is losing. Just wish they'd lose with a little more...grace? Grit?

The Kampf hit was late by a chickenshit player in Gudas and the Rielly hit at the end of the game was legal but Montour had clearly given up on tying the game there because he had a chance to play the puck and went with the big hit instead. What people are actually mad about there is Bennett punching McCabe in the face multiple times while he was down on the ice with three guys on top of him. The same Sam Bennett who suplexed a rookie out of this series, and the same Sam Bennett who speared a Bruin who was also down on the ice in a scrum. He's just out there trying to hurt people.
Trying to frame this as "cAnAdA sOfT" is also stupid, Boston fans were bitching about the exact same shit. One random idiot hoping Bennett dies is not all of Canada.
lol
