They postponed Game 1 of BOS/CAR in the bubble playoffs when TBL/CBJ went to 5OT because it was going to use the same ice and would have started stupidly late. And the BOS/CAR game went to 2OT.

So the long and the short of it basically was Kyle telling everyone he maybe didn't have it in him took Shanahan by surprise, after days of not talking his agent came back to Shanny with new terms (after having already basically agreeing to a deal in principle), and Shanahan said nah.

Kyle and being bad at negotiations, name a more iconic duo. It's a bad look to claim family reasons for maybe not coming back and then trying to up-negotiate a deal you already had in place a few days later.
