Also I want to say the ranged characters in Star Oceans are usually always broken as shit in some way and Opera is no exception.

Never played SO2 so I might pick this up, I like the style they went for.
In the vanilla version of the game it was the melee characters that were broken. Eternal Sphere or the other sword that could spit out the projectiles on hit paired up with the stun skill and you could just stunlock 99% of enemies in the game.
Opera there as the uber healer though with that skill that gained permanently gained +1 healing every time you used it.
omfg, this and Mario RPG...2 games I fucking loved. I remember playing this shit way way back and showing my uncle who was a gamer this and the crazy dmg my team was doing at the end game dungeon shit.
Look who the fuck didn't tell me about this ??
I literally just found out and I'm absolutely obsessed with Star Ocean 2 so a remaster is so fucking overdue. I actually have the original still here and man..there were times of this game I'm glad strategy guides existed because one temple or some shit was so vague to find.
So many memories and failed crafting..I must have made so many useless decorations in my time. Please don't fuck this up.

But damn had to look up when it came out and yup was 1999 , so puts me back in Florida and was dating my first serious boyfriend at the time who I think introduced me to it.
Now of we could just get Legend of Legaia..

Kitao also talked about new gameplay systems and the difficulty of Star Ocean: The Second Story R. Gameplay has been completely reworked from scratch, particularly battles, to adjust the tempo, hit feedback, skill effects, and rage, as well as frame data for moves. The intention is to make a stress-free and “easy” game for players to enjoy a modern action-RPG. Additionally, time freezing during techniques has been lowered in order to favor a speedier gameplay rhythm.
A new mechanic added to the game is having characters outside the active party be able to join in combat as “assist” type characters. To make up for this new mechanic and other new changes, the battle difficulty has been increased accordingly. Some mid-game bosses have been strengthened. So depending on playstyle some players might experience more or less of a challenge. As a way to give more options, new side-quests that offer better equipment and items have been included as well.
Star Ocean 2 was already not a hard game, and they're gonna make it even easier?
Hey that one bonus battle chick you fight post-game after summoning her from a lamp was double tough.
With SE relenting on the copyrights for Super Mario RPG, I'm desperately hoping for a Xenogears remake now...
Maybe they could make it good next time.
With how XVI handled the Eikon battles, a Xenogears take for boss encounters could certainly be interesting. And maybe a 2nd disc of content on top. But we all know that'll never happen.
That would require a producer who gives half a fuck.
Now it's Chu Chu time?
