When I played, I wanted the sword first. Took me like 15 min of resetting with a couple of Rena weapons on the way. After I got the sword and the second box, I tried getting Rena's weapon for a bit, but only the sword would pop up constantly, lol

I think it took me like 30 minutes total of resets to get both, but I fully understand how lucky I got.
Oh shit they kept that in? Game on
It's even easier now. You can just craft Goodie Boxes with high art.
I eventually gave up trying to reset on one, used crafting until I had three so I could pull nine items at a time before resets.
Got three more Lotus Eaters but got the Potion of Trust and two Swords of Marvel finally.
If I were doing it over again I wouldn't have bothered with pick pocketing and just gone for crafting the boxes. It's easy to get Fol cuz of the challenges.

Almost finished with the Cave of Tribulations. They did QoL changes so well that it literally shortens the amount of time you put into this game by a great margin compared to the original.
The game's only really difficult in the beginning when you have no skills. Super easy to overpower yourself if you know which skills to level first.
Weapons crafting ain't really necessary until the "second disc" part of the game. Level the skill that lowers SP needed for skills, level Effort, level Training and use the formation that gives you 50% EXP after 150 orbs. I gained so many levels that I was already an average of 60 when at the end of the "first disc." You're only expected to be about 40 by then.
After that, level Customization on chars that can make their own ultimate and have a char maxed in Alchemy so you can make your own metals. The rest, is up to your own discretion.
The guys that remade this game did such a beautiful job with this remaster.
also don't forget to unlock Enlightenment and just never turn it off, since it only reduces battle FOL earned now as opposed to the original where it also lowered all your stats like Training currently does.
And Bodyguard to skip most battles
Also, the slime group battle arena on "second disc" can give about 700k exp with the bonuses.
Ugh, another patch ages after release. Really not digging that trend
CHAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS--oh, wrong game.
