Aside from leveling all the jobs, expansion release is always scarce for casual players unless you have a lot of side goals or actual friends to shoot the shit with. I'm prepping for Savage atm and gathering/crafting as much as I can so I can have my gear ready. I get to attempt to blind prog Savage in PF and hope some shithead that can't read doesn't join and immediately start explaining mechs.

So I remember seeing Yoshi P comment that one of the Dawntrail changes they made was putting the in fight system messages big screen center in red text because most players were either ignoring or completely missing the old prompts. And during the media tour he roasted the content creators for continuing to ignore the prompts even after the change. I thought he was joking. But nope, here is Zepla who has cleared multiple savages and ultimates dying several times to the final boss of one of the expert dungeons because she wasn’t reading prompts, and after says she didn’t even see them. She says she was too busy watching Twitch chat but come on bro lol

A while back Yoshi P was asked why they haven’t released a minion for Zenos yet. He responded that going forward they decided to only release minions of characters that their major storyline had concluded and they would no longer feature heavily in the story. Which of course has fueled all the speculation that Zenos isn’t actually dead yet and will one day return.

The reward for this year’s Rising event? A Krile minion. Oomph.

New Unreal trial will be Byakko

The FFXI alliance raid will at least start in Jeuno and conclude in the Shadowlord’s throne room. Prishe and Shadowlord were included in the patch 7.1 artwork.

Bunch of housing updates that don’t mean much to me

Pelupelu new tribal quests for combat jobs

Conclusion to role quests for combat jobs and crafting/gathering

New delivery NPC the train NPCs in wild wild west area

New Hildibrand adventure begins

New Hall of the Novice training programs unlocked at level 49 to teach the different overhead stack markers

Sphene EX unlocked

New MSQ and dungeon obvi

New game plus for 7.0

Starting work on duty support updates for optional dungeons beginning with Halatali in 7.1

Some adjustments to PVP for few hundred people that take it seriously

Generic demons pop in the first wing, yeah. Also got the dark dragon models, too, but those technically showed up in a leve and a dungeon prior. Heck, demons spawn in one of the early dungeons, too. Not that XIV was ever shy about recycling XI models, I guess.

I didn't hate DT, but if I could wave a magic wand, I'd probably make it so that the rite was already concluded and Wuk went east seeking aid due to the aftermath while Koana and GJJ held down the fort. It'd still give room to zip around the zones, learn about them, and clean up the messes, while potentially sparing us some of the growing pains of her being a bit of a dunce. Overall, it had the same issue I had with Stormblood in that they basically tried to mix two stories together even if this one made a bit more sense to do so. It's just chronologically we spent 7 levels fucking around for the last 3 to more or less be the ones that mattered, only rushed.
