I'll say, while this is obciously not the most important part of an MMO, they're getting better and better at those single instance battles. Just did one in a 92 quest and it was a lot of fun.

I'll die on this hill, but good solo content is absolutely pivotal for an MMO.

Anyway, solo DPS should probably just run trust dungeons. If you're getting 30+ minute queues, a 25m NPC run is gonna math out better in spades.

Spent most of yesterday getting Viper to 90 and idk man I feel like I’m not doing much damage based on the few dungeons I was able to run. I’m hitting the glowing buttons as they light up and all, and hitting my positionals, still feels pretty weak though

Started the MSQ proper this morning and I gotta say I was expecting Latin America themed music in Tuliyolial. Imagine my surprise when I was met with smooth jazz and big band swing. Truly this is the Americas expansion.

Oh man, the expansion gets REAL at 56. Anyone that will feel kinda bored with the whole vacation thing/vibe, you just gotta power through. Krile fans are finally getting their meal too

My main is a male roe and I don’t notice really any difference from the graphic upgrade. But when I see Viera or Au Ra or Miqote it’s a huge upgrade

I'm noticing it mostly in the textures of gear. Metal, fabric, leather, etc, look a lot more distinct and similar to their real life textures. There was a scene with a rug on the floor that actually looked like a rug and that was kinda neat.

Also, I think my Elezen F used to have a bit of a natural smile during normal neutral faces. And now her neutral face is very very neutral and blank lol

What about performance? I'm noticing some stuttering here and there and from what I'm reading a lot of people get that. The game also just chokes my pc now. I have 2 screens and can normally watch YT or do w/e on the other one on any game, but with XIV right now when I try to do anything on the second screen it feels like the PC is struggling a bit.

I’m on PS5 and I get pretty noticeably stutter in Tuliyalol especially in the market area, feels bad

I'd imagine they have some optimization bugs to work out since in-house testing isn't going to give nearly the same potential as varied user PC builds. I know I saw one blurb on twitter about how just reducing some 3D setting slider from 100 to 99 in-game improved things a good bit. Wouldn't be surprised if someone out there is theorycrafting the most efficient universal settings since I know the old system has some checks that were big performance hits for little benefit.

That just activates FSR sharpening, which makes the game look less blurry, which is good, sure, but doesn't do anything positive performance wise

One of alts is on Aether where all the streamers are, que was just over 4k. Went to my main on Primal and que was 32 lol
