Done with the MSQ. It wasn't ShB or EW, but the second half a decent amount of good moments. I think the first half will bore a lot of people though. Very "anime filler episode". Also the end zone was a snoozefest to me, I think it was the weakest one since Stormblood.
Level 100 dungeons do not screw around though. I know it's always hard on the first round with no gear, but some of those mechanics are pretty demanding, lol. Cool lore in one of them too.
Dang y’all plowing thru MSQ huh? I’m in the 94 zone now. Been running two jobs and I’m level 96 so I think I’m gonna outpace the MSQ XP by a lot so I’m leveling a third up to split and that’s taking a little bit longer. I’m just doing FATEs whenever I see them and that plus the MSQ xp has got me yolked
MSQ alone carried all my EXP for one job, going to do trust leveling on DPS, Fates on Tanks, and WHM in MSQ Roulette
I've only done MSQ on 1 job and then the 6 fates for the mount speed increase plus all sidequests on a 2nd job (which was Smn/Sch which I kinda regret) and am sitting at 94 on the lv94 MSQ's, so my pace feels pretty good. I think I'm gonna change out the 2nd job I'm doing to another DPS though, since I have so many to level and don't want to deal with that shit as much as possible
idk I'm only halfway through the last zone so I'm reserving judgement, but I'm having zero problems connecting with the final zone. Is it comprised of an ancient civilization we've been dealing with forever? or a love letter to 10 years of content? of course not, but the themes are compelling and there's lore to be had. And the zone itself is novel and beautiful
again they fully have the opportunity to drop the ball in the second half, but a lot of story criticisms of the game since EW just seem like everyone hit their high with ShB and will never be fully satisfied again because of it
and lest I should come off as an unreasonable fanboy, a lot of the job design choices made this expan have been questionable to say the least, so things are hardly perfect. I just don't think the story is lacking
Oh, lore-wise it definitely had a lot going for it. I think I worded it poorly, because I didn't mind it on that front, but the area itself just didn't grab me... I was like "oh, another [enter the type of location it was]" - but yeah, that's very subjective.
And yeah, job wise I also felt some disappointment - I got SGE and RDM to 100 and only the latter feels like it at least got some toys, although they're not all that exciting too.
I wanna check out the new jobs now and then probably do a crafter so I can meld and repair
DRK really didn't get anything.
MSQ exp was cracked this expansion. I was leveling one job purely off of roulettes & wonderous tails and another purely off of MSQ + aether current quests + 6 fates to unlock the riding map. Had to level another job around the lvl 96 MSQ to not let exp go to waste cause the MSQ job was very close to 99.
Wtf at these expert roulette dungeons lol. I can already see the forum complaints they are gonna produce. I like them though, hope SE keeps with this direction.
Barreltender really does fuck with people, and I love it.
Not having done them yet I imagine it might be the same thing that people experience with every expansion launch, before the new raid and tomestone is patched in, gear is not great and you can’t just unga-bunga your way through
Nah, the fights definitely feel different than previous expansions and aren't as unga-bungable. Part of the fun was obviously first time/blind reasons, but even knowing what to do, they have some genuine "do mechanics or die/suffer" that gear won't save you from. That said, they will get easier but the gimmicks will keep you on your toes.
So was looking over my licenses page since I had to register DT now that early access is over. SE seems to think I preordered and bought every expansion for both PlayStation and PC which is not accurate, I only have ARR and HW on PC and all else is on PlayStation. Since SB is free now I could understand that being shown, but I never bought Shadowbringers, Endwalker, or Dawntrail on PC. But SE seems to think I did.
Can you not run expert with trusts? Don't know how hard it could be if the NPCs still manage.
the increased difficulty is from mechanics, which trusts will mostly do
