At least we'll always have the Manga... good chapter in my eyes
wtf has this manga even become...
It feels like there's no direction, momentum, stakes... the characters just sort of meander. There's nothing here anymore. It's hollow. What's the story being told? It's so sad that I may be done with OPM. Ten years ago this was supposed to be the anime that saved anime. Now...
Sorry to be pessimistic, gang.
Feel like we’re definitely just in the set up phase, introduction of the new players, the new organization, setting the stage for the next villain and arc, but at the same time it does cut back to some post-previous Arc stuff inbetween, stretching it out.
Problem is with how short chapters are and how far apart they are it can definitely feel… slow. We have no new big villain yet, just the vague god stuff from before and, got the rewrites, the ninja guy? I can’t remember the final rewrite there.
tbh for me it’s not that different than season 1s arc. Boros quite literally dropped out of the sky at random. Before that it was a lot of set up for the world, monster of the week, introduction of heroes and the hero society, etc.
season 2s arc was much more deliberate and built up though and perhaps coming off that this can feel directionless. Feels like we’re kinda in a reboot phase with the Neo heroes, and it’s been going on for a while now.
But yah, I guess a criticism I have is there’s definitely getting to be way too many people in this manga lol. The scope of names I have to remember is ballooning too much.
I treat OPM as a slice-of-life story. Makes reading it more palpable.
Same. I’ll catch a new chapter here and there mostly just to enjoy the art and character interactions, but I have zero interest in what’s going on anymore. I still haven’t gone back to read whatever the rewrites were.
The anime being such shameless trash certainly doesn’t help either.
Idk. I fucking love the manga still. Maybe its jyst having no expectations? But the art is always fantastic. The comedy always hits. The story itself is confusing with the rewrites, but i enjoy every version of it enough that im still excited to spend 3 minutes on a bi weekly chapter. Its not like it takes a lot of time haha
I love the idea of One Punch Man, but I'm not a fan of how it's being ran administratively. Just poor planning all around, and it's only still alive because of how original and well done it was in the early stages. Still original, just ran worse now as a product.

I'm kinda curious, what do people want from this franchise? Not asking in a "LeTS SEE YOU DO BETTER" kinda way, just curious why everyone likes this Manga in the first place.
Personally I enjoyed the Art, action panels, just the daily life of Saitama, and some of the colorful characters along the way. The "Story" was always background to me because it always seemed like kind of a satire of the genre anyway, like I was never suppose to take it TOO seriously, so I kinda don't. Just taking it page by page.
The story is interesting! The character interactions are very fun and original considering, technically, the main character instantly wins every time even if it isn't in one punch. Even so, they make it fun and interesting, but God dayum how are you gonna rewrite the same chapters THREE times?! Someone should have been fired for that

Season 3 part 2 announced
apparently the PNGs were simply moved around for the poster lol

I can almost understand a thematic reason why part 2 would have them facing eachother because, you know, the finale is them facing eachother.
But still, with how lazy the Season was, just... terrible optics man.
I was gonna say, on the surface I can understand why they might have done it like this thematically. But after the blowback over animation quality someone really should have had the foresight to just have them redrawn in new poses instead of just flipping them both in Photoshop, lol.
Just fyi, the original webcomic is still being updated by ONE. It has a way better story at this point than the Murata comic and the anime. There was just a really big chapter release, with a massive (probably the biggest in the series to date) twist.
It just occured to me. The threads title has not aged well.
