The rule has been around forever and it's one of the only ones that actually favors the defense. It leads to weird moments but the rule should absolutely stay.
I remember when it was a talking point a few years ago (I want to say it was a Steelers vs Pats playoff game) and it was brought up that Belichik explicitly tells his players not to do it. In most situations it just means you're now staring at a first and goal and could probably punch it in anyways.
the thing is you've got to do something negative towards the offense for fumbling in the endzone. safeties exist in the reverse, and you give up both possession and points. least touchbacks only give up possession
browns chiefs was the playoff game, might’ve been baker mayfield reaching over the line
edit: close enough, was a mayfield pass

dumb people: ha look at this, typical trash eagles fans, worst in sports
me: you didn’t see what this was about so thank you for proving eagles fans are no worse than anyone else
(it was people on social media complaining about him sucking for their fantasy teams and also Vikings fans)

Every day he further reminds everyone that he and Bones are brothers.
I actually feel bad for Chandler though
No Aaron Jones or Christian Watson today has moved the line from Packers - 1 to Falcons -3
Feels like a ton for non-QB injuries.
