Sad to see. I thought the NHL was unique, in having players and their families attend the draft. I guess teams want to do less work, and save money.

Unpopular opinion maybe, but I always found the teams bringing their entire extended family up on stage to make a pick was really obnoxious. It's cool for the players and they'll still get to go on stage, but the teams themselves do not need all the bullshit going on.

correct...each team had to bring an entourage of people for no reason. shit added like 2 mins per pick in the 1st round, which equates to more than an hour of garbage

Horrible news coming out of the Canucks. Their AHL farm team, played tonight, and Vasili Podkolzin got a cheap shot to the head. He landed hard on the ice, and looked paralyzed after, having seizures, throwing up. The paramedics were called and had to use a stretcher, to get him off the ice.
