because of mahomes like 90% these defenses are almost exclusively playing two high safety shells to stop the big plays. it's hard for all these young qbs to consistently dink and duck down the field bardy style without giving up the turnover

when bardy and peyton were playing, defenses were doing the opposite because those two read defenses like a book. everyone was using the seattle 3. now nobody uses it... not even seattle

in the year 2023, and this isn't even homer stuff, dak presgod might be the only dude in the nfl capable of making audibles and adjustments at the line for their protections and shit at a high level... other than when the least vaccinated player comes back, i can't think of any other qb in the league that spends like 20 seconds just talking and pointing pre-snap before every play
