    I think it more or less works for every weapon except for like... DB, bow, and gunlance.

    G Fulgur 2 piece opens up Maximum Might to weapons that wouldn't otherwise consider the skill, but DB and Bow are still too stamina heavy to make use of it. And Gunlance doesn't give a shit about crit so they're just rocking 4 piece Odo for Burst damage/uptime

    I rolled a 4x attack 1x sharpness para SnS yesterday, I'll check it out, even though I feel like losing the Ark 2 piece bonus would make it a lot harder to just stay in combat permanently.

    I don't think I'd use it on lance either, lately I've been using 2 odo, 2 ark and blango legs to get the alluring bonus on a damage based set of skills.

    Most of the theory crafting builds getting thrown around are operating under the assumption of playing solo, which means you have your cat showering you with free healing.

    I play a mix of solo and MP, but I just wear the same gear for both. Stuff dies so fast solo anyways, squeezing out an extra 3%-5% damage isn't going to change that much.

    I tried using the NPC Hunters for a few hunts and they're honestly a little busted, they can't cart and they distract the monsters well enough that Bowguns and Bows basically can just have free shots.

    They suck for lance, it's pretty debatable whether you even want your cat with you when so much of your kit requires countering enemy attacks. Real hunters aren't quite as bad because at least they're doing enough damage to make up for what you're not by not countering as much.

    Of course.... after screwing around a bit with SnS, I don't know why I'd go back lo lance anyways....

    SnS feels pretty clearly like the best (melee) weapon right now, especially with the ease to just throw in perfect guards and not have to stop the offense. SA is right behind it, but the counter is a bit harder to use than just guarding and FRS requires a bigger window compared to the nonstop swinging with SnS.

    And probably most importantly you're not reliant on perfect guards/dodges or popping wounds to trigger various weapon mechanics, they can just keep swinging away.

    Well, wounds do allow charged chop to work on areas normally not weak, but that's pretty niche.

    It's a nice little bonus, it's not something where not popping wounds can basically make your weapon useless (Charge Blade)

    So what Decos should I use on this?
    Attack 5/Handicraft 3?
    Attack 5/Blast 3?
    Attack 3/Blast 3/ Handicraft 3?
    Something else entirely?

    Currently with this I'm running the 'generic melee armor' from above.

    I wouldn't worry about the blast element, just focus on the raw.

    Ideal would be Crit Boost 3, Offensive Guard 3, and then some kind of sharpness management. Since you didn't roll any kind of sharpness on it, probably Guardian 3/Handicraft 1 and Razor Sharp/Handicraft 1 if you have them

    i need to reroll my weapon. been playing around with a modified version of the “meta” build you posted but for DB (using odogaron instead of anjanath and some other changes to the decos), need to reroll the weapon to be 4attack 1sharp and focus less on para

    You can "cheese" the artian weapon rolls if you don't know.

    The rolls are fixed, so you can save scum to see what your upcoming rolls are. If they're all ass just reload the save, make the weapons again but just immediately trash them to advance yourself to the next rolls on the list

    yeah that’s the plan, just need the base parts again first (have 2/3 right now). i scrapped a weapon yesterday to get the upgrade mats back, and unless im missing something/screwed something up, it gave me the upgrade mats back but destroyed the base weapon

    at a MINIMUM you should be able to change pigment on Artian weapons, but yeah full layered/cosmetic weapons would be ideal. and yeah SnS is not great. Hammer I don't mind having 'rocket assistance' but a lot of the others are at best just okay.
