WE ARE SO BACK
Title Update 2 on Monday
PC performance seems exactly the same as before from what I can tell. Worse, if anything.
Tempered Steve is out here bodying these noobs. The first time I posted it up, the other hunters got us 4 carts in 6 minutes lol. Beat him the next time, but only because I capped him when we got down to a single cart left. He's pretty savage overall, but his grab move is absolutely insane.
At this point it seems clear they can't fix the performance, the RE Engine is just not good for big open world games like this and Dragons Dogma 2.
At least they added multi frame gen so I can pretend it's running ok
After playing for awhile last night and on my lunch break it does feel like the frame rate is at least more stable. Top end performance is still ass relative to the graphical fidelity but I didn't see any massive stutters like the game is usually prone to.
Love the changes to charge blade, just staying in pizza cutter mode all the time was kinda boring. Now properly encouraged to dump phials and alternate between modes, especially with sword mode and AED/SAED/phial damage all buffed to compensate for the nerf to savage axe
Just had my first crash ever on the game trying to launch it.![]()
I haven't played it yet but I'm excited to try the offset on Charged Upswings for my bonks. Putting it on the golf swing in the combo was so stupid, so I think this change will be huge. Hope the content starts getting some meat on its bones though because I don't know how much longer I'll be interested in check in when I'm finished after 2-3 hunts.
RE: Performance, you reap what you sow repeatedly buying this games on PC lol.
Doesn't the game also run like dogshit on consoles?
we don't expect any better though
Are there actually any performance related gripes on PS5? Unless you're going to a digital foundry video and going "haha it didn't hold X FPS 100% of the time", I don't think there are. I certainly haven't noticed a single thing, if it dips its unnoticeable.
I think if you heard anything about consoles its probably about how bad it looks, because yeah there are some laughable textures at times. But unless I'm mistaken that's also the case on PC.
I'm playing in 4k with ray tracing and everything pretty jacked other than the super high res texture pack. The game ran just fine from launch until sometime in TU1, when they introduced the bug with the shader cache, and now in TU2 it stutters for the first few minutes I'm in a zone but then smooths out for the most part. The game is beautiful, and I don't regret getting it for PC, but I don't really understand why they're making it worse for so many people with their "fixes".
Yeah when I say performance is ass I mean that the game floats between 60-80 fps on my system at max settings (not counting frame generation), which is definitely playable but quite bad given the general graphical fidelity
There was also a hotfix a couple hours ago because the ammo UI was destroying the frame rate for some reason
Wait, wait.
The game is 60 fps and performance is "ass"?
Fuck sakes. Fuck TotalBiscuit and his crusade that made everyone an elitist fps shithead.
60 fps on a 3600 dollar laptop is yes what qualifies as ass. Recent reviews on Steam for the game are overwhelmingly negative almost entirely based on the bad performance. That my computer is strong enough to brute force through does not excuse the experience
This game without ray tracing runs worse than most modern games with ray tracing, so yes it absolutely runs like ass.
The real question is, do the JP feel it runs like ass? That's the only thing Japanese companies really care about and if most of them are on PS5, good luck. The rest of the world is generally an after-thought/bonus.
Part breaks on 8* Lagi and Steve are way too hard. If we're going back to pre-world gem/plate rarity, then we need to be able to actually break/cut the fucking parts off in the fight.
Edit: Especially if you're gouing to need THREE FUCKING GEMS to craft the armor, which is way worse than it used to be.
Took me 10 hunts to get a single Dissenter, and that's only because I got a Tempered investigation with a guaranteed drop.
Made the LBG and I'll use the other 2 runs of it for 2 armor pieces, and just gotta pray for another dissenter at some point.
I think the Steve LBG finally makes spread bowgun playable, though probably only for solo hunting where you can consistently proc the effect.
I finally got annoyed and rested until I got sapphire as a reward, but that's a fucking lame way to have to do it because the parts won't break.
Seregios is probably my favorite fight in the entire series so I have zero issues with doing it over and over again.
