The lower the resolution the more blurry it gets as well, compared to your native resolution; more so than most games I've played. My TV is 4k native and the difference is very noticeable when you go two resolutions down, even at ultra settings.

The first true step down from 4K is 1080p. The blurriness is from pixel scaling issues, and in some cases just dropping down to 1080p will look better than some of the higher resolutions.
Man, it feels like so long since I've been all in on a game (prob FFXIV) but this one just hits all the rights spots. I am beyond pumpted!
Yeah, I've never taken a day off for a game launch, but I might make an exception for this.
When the main theme kicked in.... chills...
Oh shi- Gravios
I don't think we're ever getting Gammoth back
I want them to know the pain of Shogun Cenataur
That launch trailer would've sold me the game had I not already bought it lmao the showcase of monsters and some of the crazy situations you're gonna get into is peak MH.
And holy shit does it ever look (and probably will feel) epic. Some of those particle effects really put in work. Especially with fire.
She, and she placed a lot higher than Gravios on the 20th anni poll. I think her model doesn't really lend itself to moving over the increasingly uneven terrain of the newer games though, honestly. Same for Doramboros, and he's another of my personal favorites. Both would probably be more likely to come back as monsters you fight in a large single area arena.
Gravios is ass and I don't understand why that shit keeps coming back. Honestly though the way they handled Steve in Rise kinda soured me on returning favorites. Like I still can't believe they stripped the sharpening effect from the weapons and made you slot it in through armor.

I'm glad Gravios is finally back, I missed that big, dumb bastard. I thought it was pretty silly to have Basarios in Rise and not Gravios. I will admit though, he has always been more fun to fight in G rank, when you have better sharpness options and he can sweep his beam and chain attacks better.
Having gotten into the series late (World, and that's once it was going on major sale back in Jan 2024) so many monsters are still new to me. So whether they are returning favorites or actually new; I'm excited for all of them.
Part of the fun in the series is definitely them bringing back old monsters. It helps sell the premise of the series of your character being an experienced hunter when you can jump onto a fight for the "first" time and already know what to do.
Even if they are shitty fights like Congalala
Has anyone figured out how to unlock both these options? They are subtle in that both require you to hunt an Alpha but they are indeed separate quest. I can only start one which means I haven't unlocked the other. I can only start the Request one not the Investigation.

The first review leaked out. The fact that PC Mag was reviewing the game on a PS5 is not a good sign.
But the embargo should go down tomorrow
Much like Soulsborne, this is a console game and you reap what you sow going PC. It'll do insane steam numbers, and start off "Mixed" reviews before climbing to "Overwhelmingly Positive" once all those idiots leave. Like clockwork
I started the series with World on PS4, but overall, I liked it much more on PC; controls in Rise were a mess, though, don't think I played it for more than 2 hours.
Spoiler: show
Started with Hammer back in world and never felt like learning anything else, but I think I may actually go for Hunting Horn and become familiar with it as I progress through the game.
