Nvidia has game ready drivers out, just fyi
There will also be an HD texture pack, apparently in the 70GB range

Probably looking at what, 16gb VRAM to slap that on? The MHW's demanded 8gb for its (relative to the 2gb for its min spec), although it didn't really improve things that much imo outside of specific props and armor.
The changes to the weapon and armors were pretty massive though. Can't really compare World to Wilds in this regard, I think. World was 100% built for console with almost a year to port it, and the high res pack got shoehorned in a while after PC release. This game was clearly designed with 4k high res textures in mind from the start, with a day 1 release for PC textures that were likely designed in this higher resolution to start with.
And it's go time (depending on region).
Denuvo server got overloaded by the launch, took a couple tries to get it started up.
Multiplayer unlocks right after the tutorial, and there's a squad/guild system you can get at the same time.
Ok yeah if your PC can handle it high res texture pack is essential. Downloaded it after playing for a bit and the difference is immediate.
Decided to be a good boy and go to sleep at a reasonable hour and wake up and play this morning... Woke up, turned on PC and... nothing. Some sort of critical error loading windows apparently, just got finished reinstalling from scratch on my desktop.![]()
So I noticed last night that my headphones start to crackle and very briefly drop out sound in game. I thought maybe my headphones were failing but I havent noticed it on anything else. Has anyone heard of a sound issue like this linked to 1 game? Any idea how/where I could start troubleshooting?
The technical state of this game is honestly embarrassing.
My PC is strong enough to mostly hold 60 fps before FG comes into play (so generally floating in the 110-120 range) but that's having to run the game in DLSS balanced and with the frame rate dropping into the 40s at some points.
And uh, this

Guys I'm starting to think RE engine isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
well it was sick for RE
Laptop with a i9-13900HX and RTX 4090
And the RE engine is spectacular for smaller scale games. SF6/DMC 5/Resident Evil series all scale well with hardware and look good.
But between this and Dragon's Dogma 2 the engine is clearly absolute ass for open world games. Even then DD2 looked a lot better than this game did.
Are some UI elements (health/stamina bars, maps) weirdly low res? I don't think I had that issue during the beta, but in full game they're pixelated as hell for me
I'm enjoying myself quite a bit, again with the caveat that my computer can mostly brute force the game to playable (though it is driving the fans in my laptop into fucking overdrive)
But just straight up the game cannot hold a stable framerate (be it console or PC).
Digital Foundry had this unlisted for a couple days and some people found it yesterday, but they finally posted it earlier today.
What resolution your running Kran? I always hear of bad performance issues that don't tend to be that bad for me because their coming from people running 1440p+ while I'm still running 1080p cause I could not give a shit about graphical fidelity.
I'm running at 1440p using DLSS Balanced (so 720p rendering resolution).
But my graphics card is rarely even reaching 100% usage, the game is very CPU heavy AND there is clearly something wrong with the direct storage implementation (it's covered in the DF video I linked) causing a lot of frame drops
The game runs much worse than the benchmark implied if you have given that a spin.
