There's no shot they can actually paywall anything of import because the entire website is user run and user-submission driven. They own literally nothing.

It's on their website, they own it all. But going forward? I know plenty of people think their fake internet clout is worth their time and would pay to continue to contribute their own time for free, but not nearly enough imo to maintain how useful and powerful reddit can be.

I'd quit it in a heartbeat if I had to pay for anything on reddit. I don't need to pay for the privilege of armchair "experts"

Yup, I use reddit for troubleshooting IT stuff and then doomscrolling here and there but 90% of the time it's fucking worthless. All the comments are stupid as shit and most of the posts are just copy/paste from somewhere else with titles that don't actually reflect that article or whatever else is going on.
