I was talking about this with my coworkers. Should the NFL institute a lottery draft? The tanking mentality has become so damn common place it’s insufferable.

Should be everything is a lottery for teams not making the postseason.

don't see how it would matter much. the top 5 draft teams are basically locked, only the order changes. meanwhile you have like 20 teams, both playoff bound and not, sitting their players

teams are sitting their guys more because of contract reasons than draft reasons. an acl in week 18 to a guy you don't want next season is brutal

i think until you change how nfl contracts are drawn up teams will continue to sit the russ' of the world

if a team is out of the playoffs, regardless of a draft lottery, there would still be no incentive to start your starters

and you can't do anything about teams sitting their starters when playoff teams are just as guilty of it, if not more
