Can't tell you how many times I've had patients who had one glass of wine or 2-3 beers, weren't intoxicated or impaired, and got in a car only to get incidentally pulled over and charged with DUI because the officer smelled it and did a breathalyzer "on suspicion".

Not defending Mahomes Sr here by any means but "above the legal limit" doesn't always mean "blasted drunk endangering lives" and laws often don't discriminate other than "holy shit drunk zero tolerance" levels of alcohol.

I'd be cautious about judging people as shitbags. Alcoholism is a pretty shitty illness to suffer from.
