They can just pump out EA Sports games from now until the end of time and never need to do anything else again and still make all kinds of money
I’d probably still play the new Mass Effect though cause I’m a sucker for the franchise despite its most recent struggles
i want to play through the Legendary Edition someday but otherwise i accept Bioware is a dead studio who have lost all thee human talent that had them on such a heater from 2000-2015
been 11 damn years since they released a good game smh
Veilguard was a good game.
It wasn't a great game, but I absolutely enjoyed my time playing it (super cringe dialogue in some parts notwithstanding)
better than Andromeda i'll give it that but i replayed all the Dragon Ages in the last couple years and ooh buddy it is the worst by a country mile
The hair physics were really nice, though I shan’t forgive them for how they downgraded Isabella so much from DA2
A AAA publisher being privately owned and not bound to shareholders whims and the pursuit of infinite growth should be a good thing on paper shame that isn't the world we're living in.
I got like 70 hours out of it and had fun, I'd consider that a good game but to each their own.
Where did this notion that the first Dragon Age is some timeless classic come from anyway? Even at its release it was about as generic a 'dark fantasy' as there was.
Fine to have nostalgia and all, but let's not elevate stuff to be more then it was.
I was playing the first Dragon Age at the same time I was replaying Breath of Fire 3 and couldn't get over how this PSX game had brighter colors and a better sound design than this at the time cutting edge PC title. I had fun with Dragon Age but the world looked like the walls of someone who smoked for 50 years.

Worth remembering Dragon Age Origins is way way better on PC vs console. If you had played it on console you were getting a vastly inferior experience.
balls to this day. dated ofc, and was ugly and washed out even on release (tho something to be said for committing to the grim grimey grim fantasy aesthetic), but the writing / story / characterization / world building hold up and smoke something like Veilguard. best gameplay the series ever got as well. Morrigan my beloved.
trilogy deserves the Mass Effect Legendary treatment, throw some paint on ol girl and she'll still shine.
The world building and writing I remember was like 90% racism by volume. I mean, even the magic system was just an allegory for more racism.
I certainly pine for the days when that could be broadly understood to be bad and received without controversy but there were CRPGs that dealt with all that and more besides a decade prior.
Actually the story beat I remember most is how the paranoid fueled betrayal of the stock amoral second in command character that serves as the inciting incident to the entire plot was later revealed to have been totally correct and justified.
FFXVI was magic racism in the really weird position where the people with magical powers were the oppressed
