The game is not hard enough to require full on meta builds, but general ARPG rules generally apply to pick a single focus (either a specific skill or one elemental damage type) for your damage output and put all your respective talents and gearing into it + whatever defensive options you'll need to stay alive.

I'm basically having to relearn Arpgs because of this game. It's getting me as engrossed as D2 did 20 years ago and that was even easier so I'm still used to splitting some stats being totally viable. It's really hard to get used to single stacking honestly but after re-speccing my passives I'm killing far faster.

In general Lagon sucks and is def the worst boss. Eventually though you just dodge most things he does without trying until you get strong enough to speed kill him.

The devs put out an infographic about how Lagon has killed more than like 3x the players of the next deadliest enemy.

As long as you take your time and focus on dodging plus always keep a traversal skill ready to dodge his eye blast thing you should be good to go.

If by eye blast you mean the beam he waves around, you don't even need a traversal. It doesn't shoot out as long as it looks like so eventually even with no movement speed increases you can just walk down a bit then up again and take 0 damage.

There's a rock at the top of the left set of stairs that you can stand behind that makes it so that the only attack that can hit you is the big telegraphed one with the circle. You can just stand there and only run out when the circle appears.

I've been playing as COF so I missed it, but apparently the market got completely destroyed today after a gold duping exploit got made public.

Devs put out a patch to fix it within half a day but seems like the damage has been done based on reddit comments.

beat majasa the other night (kind of an anticlimactic “last boss”), fight wasn’t as bad as lagon but too long imo

so what’s the recommended endgame cycle? clear monoliths/get blessings, use keys you get in them for arena and dungeons you get as you go, etc? also try to check off prophecies as you get them etc

tried an arena last night and had no problem clearing waves but the arena champion beat my ass, im wondering if my marksman is too glass cannony or if all these bosses are designed to basically one shot you if you fuck up

There's two tiers to every monolith. The set level ones that start at lvl 58 and then awakened monoliths that ups every one of them to level 100. But you have to beat the top 3 ones to unlock awakened mode so just blast straight to those asap and start to farm for Greater Blessings etc

The idea is race to empowered monoliths as quickly as your level/gear allows, then target farm the various empowered monoliths to improve your gear so you can start cranking the corruption on them (which increases difficulty/XP/drop rates).

The empowered monoliths let you focus on uniques for specific gear slots, along with boss specific drops. And if you get good uniques with legendary potential, you can then do the Temporal Sanctum dungeon to (randomly) add affixes from exalted items into the unique to make them legendary.

Example being if you wanted to run blast rain Marksman, you spam the shit out of Age of Winter timeline because the boss drops the bow that makes the entire build work. Then pray that said bow drops with legendary potential so you can slam an exalted bow into it with Crit Chance/Bow Attack Speed so you can get 100% Crit rate.

That last bit does bring an important note about gearing that isn't super well explained. Base Crit Chance is 5%, gear that has the wording "XX% increased critical strike chance" is a multiplier on that 5%. If gear instead just says "X% critical strike chance" it's additive to the base 5%. So getting a capped roll on Crit Chance/Bow Attack Speed means your base critical strike chance is now 15%, and the multiplier for "increased critical strike chance" is now working with 3x the base Crit Chance.

the emperor of corpses fight was not fun and gave me much more trouble than lagon but eventually i powered through. fight seemed like total horseshit most of the time

but i did get a drelkors compass drop last night (no potential but still something) so the multishot build is coming together
