I wonder how much content they'll keep pumping out, datamining has found somewhere between a dozen and fifteen characters, and seemingly all of the Fantastic Four is dropping in Season 1, while OW2 gets 2 a year if you're lucky lol

I've come to appreciate Luna more over the past month when you can just put her idol on the tank, or a competent flanker (dive tank, or a tanky dps like Wolverine), and then NOT have to worry as much about them when they're getting focused.
Mostly been playing a lot of Mantis and Adam the past couple weeks, but they're more burst than sustained heal. Super satisfying just landing a full headshot right-click on a Punisher or flying unit as Adam and watching them drop though.
I find it infuriating how many DPS don't know how to deal with Punisher's turret. He drops like a fly if at least two people with ranged attacks (or someone who can actually flank) focus him, but it never happens in casual matches, especially on the payload map. Usually stuck trying to take him out myself on Adam with a charged right click.
Game is going to need a lot of hero bans if they're going to keep the current state of them. I feel Jeff and Iron Fist would be permanently locked out in the current state of the game. I hate Jeff's Ult. No other Hero is allowed to go invisible+fast moving for 10s leading up to them actually committing their Ult's location, which makes defending an objective near the end difficult, especially on payload maps. Iron Fist on the other hand has way too easy a time taking out anyone 1v1 that isn't a tank, which means dead healers because DPS never protect their backline.
Hero bans makes sense and I'm used to it from Dota, but no role queue is cancer in pubs with four people rush picking DPS.
Only thing with no role queue is I'm undecided if 2/2/2 or 1/3/2 is a better setup for this game. Really depends on the tank chosen and the map for a solo-tank. Especially with how we have what feels like a few hybrid tank/dps heroes.
It could be 1/1/2 with two flex picks.
And I still think people are sleeping on 3/0/3 or 2/1/3. After thinking about it more, this are the ones I came up with current team-ups.
1. Thor/Cap/Hela/Mantis/Adam/Luna
2. Hulk/Strange/Iron Man/Mantis/Adam/Luna
3. Venom/Peni/Punisher/Rocket/Cloak/Jeff
I actually need to try a 3/0/3 at some point, but that'd really depend on the comp to ensure you have the damage to actually take the others down without proper voice communications (feels like no one uses voice in casuals). One the other 2/2/2 team gets their ults they're going to stomp over your healers, and then the tanks.
Yeah these comps would require coordination... but I'm of the minority that thinks people shouldn't be able to mute teammates on voice or chat to ensure coordination. Winning should come above comfort and the game should just be policed to ensure no abuse.
I'm like 99% sure being able to mute people will always be a liability/safety feature/issue and not a "But coordination?/How will I yell at Spiderman to swap classes?", you probably wont be getting a major AAA game that mandates in game voice communication with no features to mute or block disruptive players. Like legally speaking forcing your consumers to endure potential, almost assured constant harassments to play your game probably would be a lawsuit nobody wants to be the one to set the precedent for.
I mean I'm almost relatively certain App hosters like Apple Store require websites like Twitter to have the Block/Mute features for this reason. I mean i Streamed Apex for like 2 weeks and heard someone just start the game in the character select screen where at launch you could NOT mute anyone and were forced to listen to teammates, scream "N*gger" over and over into his mic until the game started and I could mute him.
I just absolutely loathe the casual PMA mindset these features have promoted where people just mute everyone and "play their own game" and ruin it for everyone else.
Cards on the table I'm one of those folks who doesn't want to deal with an Armchair Esports expert who just got dumped, now playing "Team Leader" telling folks to swap classes because the first push didn't go like how the Youtuber he watches said it should and is now, mentally already defeated, screaming at the guy playing an off meta hero as if everything bad was his fault. '
Now, that oddly specific situation aside, I don't auto mute most of the time, and never in competitive. Sometimes I'll do it in Quickplay if I'm just chilling, but in competitive I'm actually trying and if someone has good advice I'm all ears.
But yeah, some people are insufferable asshats and don't blame folks for not wanting to deal with them. Its a catch 22 for me cause I really want folks to talk but the second I hear some folks open voice chat just to say "Bro can you SWAP" I realize 99% of communication in Random ELO matches is just people trying to scapegoat and be angry. Then again I've had good experience with really charismatic folks talking lead and being positive even if we lose.
At the end of the day if I want a really well coordinated game experience in comp, I should just find a discord and form a pre-made group of at least 3 other people to cover most important classes and lower the RNG of teammates.
This. Hearing some console player with all-talk on just nasally breathing and clacking into his controller without an option to mute that shit is annoying as hell. We aren't there, tech-wise, to mandate comms; to say nothing of idiots having 30 conversations with roommates or whoever else the second you load into a game.
I'd just make it 1/1/1 as required and then anything else can be filled in, but honestly in rando matches I don't care if anyone goes dps because i'm just looking to fuck around and don't really care too much. Now if i'm in comp that's different but also gonna communicate with team on that side of things and figure stuff out
1/1/1 gets you the 1/4/1 nightmare comps that are the problem.
I just feel if you want to play only DPS, it's not a big deal to ask you to deal with the higher queue time. If you just want to shoot stuff, there's literally a deathmatch mode.
Bro Loki is fun as fuck for a healer. I'm sure he'll probably suck in real PVP but playing PVE Level 3 hes super addicting and feels so powerful.
He's actually one of the best; high-tier and slots in nicely with the other top-tiers to double up on their ult.
Loki is always a nightmare when I'm facing him, but always feels underwhelming on my team unless it's a 3 healer comp. I want to say it's usually because my teams don't pick healing competently to function together.
I've been liking Invisible Woman a lot, but her heals really suffer when your team is scattered
