    https://blooberteam.prowly.com/38356...-collaboration

Bloober Team, the Polish masters of horror, and the Japanese giant Konami Digital Entertainment (KONAMI) are continuing their partnership, announcing the signing of a new agreement for a joint project. Following the massive success of the remake of one of the most highly anticipated psychological horror games—SILENT HILL 2—the developers are now focusing on a new game based on KONAMI's IP.
    Good for them (and us)

    Sooo SH 1 or 3…?

1 is unplayable-level dated and prequel to 3 so my money is on it.

Bloober got the formula so damn well in 2nd that whichever SH they do next it is gonna be awesome.

The only problem with this is with SH3 it directly ties to SH1. So they would have to do something to address it.

given both are beeg storytelling steps downward from 2 it'll be interesting to see if Bloobs does even more re expanding/updating the narrative

also ya think 1 is likely money given it was both more popular and being a direct prequel some beats from 3 hit a lot more after playing 1

And then do a 180 and announce an original horror themed puzzle&exploration focused Castlevania.

Finally decided to start playing this game seriously. Anything I can do about feeling nauseous from the camera movement? Atmosphere is great, but I wasn't counting on nausea. Got stuck on a box while in combat and died, decided to take a break at that point.

Edit: Seems like this is a known problem with the game, Jesus.

Edit: Okay, think I can do this if I play half an hour at a time. It sucks dealing with this, but honestly, the game is totally worth it. Made it to the apartment building. Not looking forward to fights in narrow hallways.

Edit: Seems like I am 90% fine in indoor areas. Incredible game so far, finished the apartments in one go. No idea how many times I decided to keep playing only until the next time I save and then continuing anyway. Great atmosphere, but enemy groups suck; mostly stuck with melee, but floor 3 of the Blue Creek building went really bad, eventually started using the pistol. I am not looking forward to the hospital, but I need a break.

Now I understand what you guys mean by taking breaks...the game gets so stressful -in a positive way you'd expect from a survival horror game- that I find myself needing multiple sessions to clear a single area.

Just arrived at Hospital...the evening sun sets the mood so remarkably well that I have to give massive Kudos to Bloober Team.

The hour post apartments was also an excellent change of pace. Having a companion in game is relaxing.

I can absolutely relate, probably about halfway done with the part between apartments and the hospital now, although it would be nice if Maria let me smash cars and windows in peace.

Edit: Damn, hospital was terrible, but I am pretty sure I already missed something; figured I'd go to Pete's with Maria, but seeing how we did not go there, I think I'll be unable to visit it at this point.

When “Collected: Handgun Ammo (2)” becomes “Collected: Handgun Ammo (5)”…

Back to 0/0 Handgun and 0/0 Shotgun after beating the boss to death with a pipe (I think he glitched haha)

…oh and thank you mf for turning the entire hospital into rusty pos and the single handgun ammo afterwards!

    Post-Asshaven Hospital spoilers

    Spoiler: show
I really, really loved the way they built up the death of Maria. The way they went through the “painting” door, Maria’s unease (this was oscar-level good), James being warm at her for the first time….

The whole scene was “just right”. Couldn’t help feeling she got a bit mistreated by James. And the “Alone Again” achievement afterwards…striking.

Later on the game turned a bit into “Silent Hill 2 Remake: Tactical Espionage Action”. I swear during the night city parts I felt like I was playing MGS. (Nurses and mannequins are more competent than soldiers in MGS lol). It was a bit tense, heck forced me to literally walk the entire city with flashlight usually off.

Ready for Prison, with some 7-8 syringes and 10+ Health Drinks. Hospital was so tense that it turned me into a hoarder.

Oh and playing both this and Jedi Survivor inevitably makes me hold L1 when I start getting hit. Lightsaber block, go.

Prison: Done in a single session.

I found it a bit easier and less tense than the hospital. I actually used the cell block structure to my advantage, apart from a couple of them you don’t get ambushed in them, with your back to the wall monsters can only get through the gate, effectively allowing you to focus on a mere 30 degrees of the field of vision and hunt them down. 330 degrees are in the safe zone. Also allows you to do the same to the ceiling mannequins.

I also find mannequins much easier to deal with than the Nurses. Worse takes 3 bullets. If you screw up they do not overwhelm you, usually allow you to backtrack and try again. …or accept the hit and counter with a melee weapon. In contrast nurses are much more unpredictable, are bullet sponges (shotgun works well though) and if you screw up your strategy they’ve got punishing back to back attacks that are more lethal than mannequins.

I have to admit though, the shower section trolled me good.

Grinded about 14 health drinks and 13 Syringes. Low on handgun ammo but I’ve got a decent stock of shotgun and rifle. Off to Labyrinth next!

Finished the game today. Got the water ending. 10/10, it was the impossible remake for me and they did it. This is THE “Silent Hill 2” experience and they’ve left no reason to get back to the original.

From the initial step to the Silent Hill to the end they’ve maintained the phenomenal quality and loyalty to the original game as much as possible. Only Labyrinth section was a step behind other parts but the awesomeness of the hotel section was way more than enough to make up for it.

I know 8/10 is not a bad score but what the hell were some of those mainstream reviewers thinking? Complaining about simplistic battle dynamics, lack of weapon upgrades? Resident Evil 4 Remake comparisons? Claiming that there is no good reason to get back to the game? (EIGHT endings, 20+ hours of gameplay each run, secret weapons, hard mode?? Wtf?).

Some considered the abundance of ammo/healing items as a negative thing but what they were probably trying to do was to reward exploration. The game would be less pleasant if all those cars, back alleys and drawers were cosmetic only. I am a seasoned gamer, and I died 14 times, sounds just right.

10/10…what an experience it was! And what a mind blowing soundtrack, best ending credits ever!

Apparently it is much more reasonable to get platinum in the remake so I’ll avoid watching other endings on youtube, get the platinum and rest of the endings after a break.
