Yep, seriously looking forward to this one. Hoping it is good. They're also launching it at a reduced price point so more people might play it.

Hype train continues for this as we get nearer 04/24/25. PC demos are in the hands of a few gaming sites and critics.
Scott White at RPGsite gives an excellent preview. He compares the combat, growth, stat, RPG mechanics to a modernized melange of those offered in FF9, FF10, Lost Odyssey, Legend of Dragoon, SMT, Shadow Hearts, and even a little Souls.
I can't help but see the irony in this game's plot; it feels so much to me like this tiny studio is trying to right all the wrongs of a post-Sakaguchi Square, 20 years removed.
eurogamer and kotaku previewers also saying it's a beaut, gushing over the combat system and aesthetics and world building. not talking about the writing or plot too much so far (admittedly hard to preview within a 3 hour demo) but hype is reaching critical mass. if they can land the storytelling shaping up for a modern RPG classic.
barring any unforeseen issues I imagine (once I've played it a bit from game pass) I'll go ahead and buy it
The game has gone gold. Probably a good sign that they've announced that a month before release
hell ya. one of the best reviewed games of the year let's fuckin go French Final Fantasy.
i listened to Mort's 100% review over on YouTube and he was gushing about the story, calling it beautiful and tragic. was my only real concern about the game with the aesthetics and gameplay looking so good.
Fuck YES.
Let's fucking go! I'm happy for them as a small dev this turned out great. I hope the sales numbers do well and Oblivion dropping didn't fuck them too badly.
GOTY loading.
I am hype.
It is effectively the best reviewed game of the year at this time, with a critic score of 92% on the big aggregate review sites.
Spoiler: show
Wondering if I should go ahead and get the PS5 version or wait until after Lunar Remastered and see if theres a Switch 2 announcement by then.
man i am jonesin for the midnight drop, don't think i've been this excited about a game since BG3
It's 3 am EST drop for me
I'll be starting tomorrow
I "have to" wait a week.
I'm on vacation next week, and my friend is coming into town. I always pick a game and he backseats the entire time. Elden Ring was particularly fun going in blind one time. I'll be avoiding things like the plague.
Yeah I was expecting a 9 pm PST release, it's weird that it's midnight PST you don't see that very often even from West Coast based Studios. I'm too old to be staying up that late to play the game I'd be half dead.
My local game store got it yesterday and said fuck a street date. Maybe I’ll buy it today.
2 protips, get good with parries and merde means shit
this game is so fuckin french lmao. putain means whore btw (+ can be used to emphasize like 'fuckin' as an adjective) in addition to chazzy's merde. was a lil jarring to hear Clive and Shadowheart chopping it up to start the game.
but game is beautiful. would be playing till who knows when if i didn't have to wake up and plan a funeral tomorrow (fitting given the game no). story is dark and somber, focused on the approach of inevitable death and what life can be with such. does feel real reminiscent of Final Fantasy in wedding deeply emotional beats with pronounced stylistic visuals / music. OST slaps hard (is entirely in French).
gameplay is just getting going but fire so far, kinda like Super Mario RPG and Sekiro had a baby.
go in as blind as possible imo. don't read reviews, don't watch let's plays, don't scope youtube unless they promise no story spoilers. even a few hours in you have emotional gut punches and hard plotty subversions. blind, blind i say.
Instructions unclear, have to type in braille now.
Just wrapped up Xenoblade X so I am diving in
Gosh this game is pretty
