Just got the third character and can now jump to dodge attacks.
Jesus fuck I suck at Larry/Dodge and fast attacks. That three hit combo I basically have to dodge, can't time parry. And that heavy two hitter that stuns on second hit, I miss the parry window on the second swing every time

You’ll get it after enough reps. Half the fun is encountering a new enemy and learning their patterns. No shame in dodging until you get comfortable enough to parry. I don’t remember if the game tells you this or not, but when you dodge if you get the pop up that says DODGE it means you were in the grace period to dodge but would have failed a parry attempt. If you get the PERFECT pop up, it means you would have succeeded in a parry attempt. So once you get the timing down with PERFECTs on your dodges, you can start using Parry to counterattack and really drop some big dick damage.
love and die by the swoosh sound my child the audio cue is a lot more reliable and rhythmic than the visuals the game shows
Well you gotta Parry not Larry, so there's your issue.
The dodge window is much better then the parry window so I would rely on dodging over parry to learn. Like Anda says, a lot of attacks have a clear sound just before the attack lands, which is the parry window/perfect dodge timing. There are a few enemies, especially later on that have very very LONG wideups for some attacks so it takes a lot of practice and getting used to the enemies and what they do. I think there's a picto for getting 1 AP for each perfect dodge? Or maybe just one per turn, but either way that will help out a ton since the reason you parry is getting a shit ton of AP back.

So apparently it is possible to be caught in a game breaking bug in New Game+. If you start NG+ with the Auto Death picto equipped, you get caught in an endless loop of instant death when you face the first actual enemy because you can’t change your pictos yet at that point.
You use autodeath without second chance?
Somebody did, in the name of science
Super cool just delving into the music more and picking up on themes showing up in certain areas and instruments being used to represent characters, etc etc. 1st half of vid is before she played the game and 2nd is afterwards.

Fucking autocorrect I swear
Fought the first trumpeter boss. Took me watching a video to realize one of his attacks was one swing, followed by two green orbs.
One shot him after that. Just got to the Gestral village.
Also really wish the game explained equipping lumia better.
