Lol they got Charlie Cox voicing the main guy? And we also have Andy Serkis and Ben Starr? I thought this was a small studio, what kind of funding do they have lol

+ Jennifer English from BG3 who along with Neil Newbon was the hottest talent to come out of that game
from what i read they got some money from both Epic and Microsoft, and a good chunk of federal money from Paris and regional funding from Montpellier (France likes to subsidize artistic projects like American states do for films that shoot locally). then they met Kepler Interactive (Sifu publisher) at a trade show in 2022 who took them the rest of the way.
but ya kind of a miracle for so small and new a dev to attract that much funding from so many sources. seems to've worked out for everyone tho, up to 50,000 users on steam, add Game Pass/Epic and the console boys and imagine it'll pass a million sales soon enough.
Yeah they really did a great job marketing this game, and it's great that reception has been so overwhelmingly positive. I'm enjoying it a lot so far but I'm not very far in. I really love the flow and animations of Combat.
Spoiler: show
Not gonna click any spoilers unless you mark how far along you are XD
just speculation, im past the 2nd level.
Just about to start it, let's see what those wine loving bisexual French people came up with. Super excited
Really impressed with this game, especially since i found the dev team is like only 30 people. Love how its a seemingly mature JRPG, and its so mechanically dense! I'm overwhelmed juggling this and Hundred line.
Fam is it too early to start talking about GOTY lol
Lmao not really a spoiler, just the way a character moves in the field
Spoiler: show
bruh i am only moving with her so far it is fun as hell to soar around like a disney princess mage
For the PC folks - https://github.com/Lyall/ClairObscurFix
Lyall puts out a bunch of fixes/QOF stuff for various games. Big one so far for this is removing the 30 fps cap on cutscenes
Yooo learning Luminas is like the skill system from FF9
Fucking love that
Yeah I kind of lol'd when I saw each one can be learned from 4 battles. I'm assuming that means theres tons of them.
Game even has a world map. They knew what they were doing lol
Man, they absolutely cooked with this game.
Wish performance on the PC version was a bit better, but can still hold a stable frame rate (capping the game at 60) at mostly Epic settings so can't complain too much
Yeah I am loving it so far. My only real complaint is the lack of a manual save, wtf is up with that?
The game auto saves frequently enough I haven't found it too annoying, especially since it seems to explicitly auto save before walking into harder fights.
