I do appreciate AMD counterbalancing all the red across my account today.
Intel doing them a big solid with their sheer fucking stupidity

Welp looks like I missed out.
Oh well, staying the course with my boring investments.
And the random RWL ETF that. . just seems to keep performing so decently over the years I'm kinda surprised.
I really feel bad for Japan's economic situation right now. The Nikkei dropped 12.4% today. On Friday it went down 5.8%. The largest two day drop in it's history.

terrific
ELI5 why everyones freaking out today
global markets are swinging down, Japan especially got crushed ergo the above, as many are worried signs of a slowing US economy are imminent. hiring down, unemployment up, everyone speculating about what the Fed will do re interest rates.

Is this tl;dr accurate?
It's that largely that and people wildly overreacting to the most recent jobs report.
not really. it's accurate but is a relatively minor side-effect gussied up by Reddit traders of what of more significance occurred re the US jobs report which very unexpectedly suggested the world's largest economy may be heading to an imminent recession. global growth was already kind've weak with Germany heading to recession and therefore dismal European prospects.
You guys giving me mixed messages here
Really it's all because of that dude putting the 700k inheritance from his grandma onto Intel and posting about it for karma.
My favorite was the picture of the Fast Food manager with "Welcome back diamond hands. How was the moon?"
Nikkei bounces back, S&P set to have a positive day.
About Intel, it had all warning signs really. With Apple ditching them and showing clear superiority with silicon all their reaction was hiring the old apple guy and making an ad campaign based on gaming capabilities.
With Microsoft seriously exploring ARM path they won't really have much competitive advantage
