Like, I get shit being bleak, but none of this is irreversible, nor does it need to happen at a glacial pace. That said, I imagine we're progressing to the point where voting will be done with bullets instead of ballots because poor governance and late-stage capitalism is having their fun right now.

Like, the consumer electronics industry is basically turning into OPEC 2.0 now that tech is ingrained into social requirements. While AI is the easy scapegoat, it's been working toward this long before that and in components beyond RAM. I remember when the PS3 launching at $500 in the mid-2000s was seen as a crime despite the justification it was the entry level bluray player to get that media moving. Now we're looking at the PS6 probably costing double that, while games have gone from $30-50 to $70-100. Paychecks sure as fuck haven't kept up, especially with everything else bloating with Covid and never going back down. Getting a half-decent PC for under $1500 is a nightmare now. Phones are gonna cost that and more. When the entertainment, escapism, and distraction dries up as current hardware starts breaking down (because it's not built to last), that's when you can figure things will start getting ugly.

There's two objectives, one is to keep the true believers in a frenzy, the second is to demoralize everyone else so much that they give up.

It is genuinely a fucking awesome strategy. If you know for absolute certain that you won't lose votes. They don't seem to think they will, and I don't either.

At the end of the day the pissed off, demoralized, betrayed, angry Republican still goes to the ballot and still votes, and they still vote R, just with a bigger frown on their face.

The pissed off demoralized betrayed angry Democrat stays at home and doom posts like Sirious despite the fact that they directly contributed to the situation.
