I had an emergency appendectomy after my appendix burst when I was like, 25 or 26? Not a fun situation. I resisted going to the hospital thinking it was just a bout of the mystery abdominal pain I've been dealing with since I was 16. My girlfriend called telehealth at like 10PM after I'd been writhing around for 6 hours. She thought I might have a kidney stone. The lady on the phone asked her if I ever had my appendix removed. I said no and she said she was calling an ambulance because it could have ruptured hours ago and things could go very south for me very quickly, and she stayed on the phone with my girlfriend until the ambulance got there. It was only after the surgery that they told me at the hospital if I had waited another hour or two, I'd probably have died. The surgeon was amazed I could tolerate the pain for as long as I did.
Which is a long-winded way of saying, your appendix might be useless, but it's no joke. If you have pain in your abdomen above your right hip bone, don't be dumb like me. Go to the hospital.
Robertson doing what he can to get a roster spot.

gutless Swede shoulda been skating in the first place
I had to look it up cuz that's the only franchise he's played for. Atlanta > Jets.
But a couple years ago I guess he was a Coyotes alum on a line with Datsyuk and Hossa lol
This game is turning ugly.
Xhekaj grabs Pare to the ice, and then unloads on him.
Very Bertuzzi like.

Now Reinbacher dead.

Slafkovski also fought Marshal Rafai and got dropped. The entire game has been a shitshow all because the refs decided not to just eject Pare from the get-go. Classic gAmE mAnAgEmEnT.
Edit: lost in all this bullshit, Nick Robertson is on hat trick watch, lol.
Xhekaj held him up though to keep feeding him and didn't pile on his back.
Also, if you're a nobody who's gonna play less NHL games than guys on a video game forum and knee Laine, you have this coming
I get wanting your pound of flesh, but we just cannot allow guys to attack players from behind. The jersey pull + punch to the back of the head was so damn similar to how Bertuzzi went after Moore, it made me shudder in real time. He chased him into the boards, then back into centre ice. Pare's an idiot for not just accepting his ass-beating but we simply can't let that happen.
The knee wasn't even on purpose. Bad shit happens when you try to split the defenders like that, they teach you that in Bantam. Pare was just reflexively trying to make any contact he could to avoid being turnstyled because he's outclassed. It's super shitty, it can't happen, it absolutely deserved a penalty (how the fuck do you not call one?), but it wasn't intentional.
At the same time, I'm also of the mind that players that you know are gonna be top 6 for sure, just sit em til the last couple games of preseason. Not when rosters are still 783 people, you're just asking for something goofy to happen (re: Laine's knee, Doughty's ankle)
Laine probably wanted to play after all the time he missed last season.
It's just shitty, because this shit happens to guys every preseason. Even if the preseason was max 2 games, it would still be happening.
That knew hit and bend made me shudder...all for a preseason game?? That sucks
