Id say it’s more likely his career is over than not. Miami will draft a QB. Tyreek probably gets shipped for parts.

I don’t think the organization, his family, or the NFL front office will allow it. Whether they come out and say it publicly or not.

His huge contract is more guaranteed via injury than without it. He can eat the Phins for the full amount.

I just feel terrible for the Dolphins. Unless they can grab someone like Tannehill or another QB who can potentially produce this has to be the end of their season unless Tua literally risks his life.

Miami had 2 on-line injuries. Ed Oliver ate the backup. Chris Grier hasn't taken the o-line seriously. Everyone will die back there, especially QBs that hold the ball longer than 2 seconds. If I were Tua, I'd retire. I don't think the club or NFL will push it because of the precedent it would set. Owners are not going to be on board with being forced to flush hundreds of millions of dollars down the toilet. It is still a business and Tua is still a commodity.

I don't think the NFL will publicly push for him to retire after all the years of denying CTE. It's a different time now but I assume that would open them to some kind of lawsuits

The only benefit for Tua would be the potential for a third contract/extension if he keeps playing.

I don't think there's ANY scenario outside of Tua turning into Brady and wins 2 Superbowls with no injuries over the next 3 seasons that would get him a significant deal. The risks of playing are SO MUCH worse than retiring with, I would assume, to still be a 9-figure nest egg even after taxes and commissions for his staff.
