So he will definitely get medically cleared.

While a full recovery is the only real focus here, in response to questions regarding Tua Tagovailoa's contract:

The deal includes $167M guaranteed for injury, $43M of which has been paid in 2024.

If he's medically cleared to return to football, but opts to retire, he will forego the remaining $124M guaranteed (barring a custom settlement).

If he's medically forced into retirement, he has a right to collect the $124M remaining.

By a Miami Dolphins doctor lol. I bet he can lawyer his way into 3rd party doctors that will force him into retirement.

I also question the Tua being a commodity part. He has looked like shit. McDaniels strange play-calling suggested he had 0 faith in him throwing beyond 2 yards.

as soon as you posted this i went looking for tuas passing chart because just from watching the game last night it didn’t seem true

he did have quite a number of deep (10+ yard) attempts last night, yes along with a lot of checkdowns, but still

:should: he have had faith in him throwing deep? probably not, which could be more the bills playing two deep, like the post says

Miami was moving the ball and moving it well when they were not killing themselves. Tua looked sharp on the throws they were making, save the awful pick 6. I just don't understand why they didn't challenge that 2-high shell with such weak safety play, but I guess if they're going to give you the underneath shit all night, you take it.

Miami's offense was so much of their own undoing. Three turnovers were completely unforced. Ball hits WR in chest, WR runs wrong route, Tua throws a 7 yard arm punt (credit Buffalo for the pressure, but Tua should have gotten that to the sidelines). Tua lead the league in ADOT. He can get the ball down field, that's not even a question.

I'd need to know how many of those throws were early in the game - did he lose faith as the game went on? Eye test told me McDaniels was losing faith in him and that drive to end the first half + second half urgency with the ball is all I need to see.

I think it had a lot to do with, shockingly, armstead getting hurt and Ed Oliver eating Kendall Lamm for breakfast. He went out after 1 short drive in the third.

I get you have to ask the question, but every concussion timeline ever is "we have to wait". Ain't no one cleared protocol the next day nor has any coach given a timeline the next day.

I should clarify, Ed Oliver also ate Armstead. But he feasted on Lamm.

Well, Lamm isn't a NFL level player.

I haven't checked in a while, but if you get KTFO in boxing or MMA you're automatically medically suspended for 45 days right off the rip. NFL rushing these guys back in a week or two is wild lol.
