Can't see any reason for the Jets to do that then. They can:

1. Let him rot and continue to rack up fines
2. Trade him to the AFC and get (whatever they can, likely a 5th) + (keep their 2nd)
3. Trade him to the NFC and get (whatever they can, likely a 5th) + (lose their 2nd for basically no reason)

#3 can't possibly be an option, unless I am missing some info.

Fangio said that Sirianni’s input on the defense has been “pretty similar” to what other head coaches he’s worked for have contributed even if those coaches haven’t tried to take the same ownership over calls in the aftermath of games.
