Loved all the little nods, I’m sure most XI veterans got the references easily but the one that personally popped me the most was

I’m predicting the next raid tier will be Aht Urghan and we’ll get another Ark Angels style fight but this time against the Serpent Generals (and their gear sets will be the reward keeping on theme)

Loved the Fafnir fight, but Spike Flail needs to be a 1-hit KO. The darter aggro was great, though I was pleading for some gangly Elvaan male thief to come dragging them in whilst screaming for help with orange text.

Ark Angels was a chef's kiss. My favorite fight in XI realized with all of them fighting at once and using team attacks.

Its sad to see no Soken OST, but I realize that they only do that for classic FF that's in the MSQ and Trials. Perhaps down the line sometime.

Finished the 7.1 MSQ, dungeon boss fights were fun once again but the story continues to be a mess

The hidden facility where horrible experiments were conducted you would think would be a bigger plot reveal, but the gang basically goes “well we found info about Gulool Ja’s mom let’s head home!” and then it’s completely dropped. And then we take a complete U turn for backstory on Koana and XIV’s Buffalo stand ins that felt REALLY out of place. The only interesting thing in all of the MSQ was “Sphene” coming back and that’s literally just a tease at the end. But it’s probably another Ascian.

byakko was always pretty easy but stormblood stuff hasn't aged well with the amount of power creep we've gotten. pf is also cheesing the second tiger by tank LBing, which gives you a lot more uptime (with dmg up orbs) than you would've otherwise gotten before which effectively eliminates any dps check

i wouldn't expect any pushback until suzaku and shinryu

The plugin that was apparently shown in the screenshot was Pixel Perfect which puts a pixel in the middle of your hitbox so you can position better. It's whatever, World First is something that will always be plagued by plugins and cheats unless you got all 8 players on a PS5. The community is hella hypocrites too if they decide to raise a stink about it. They spent the entire back half of EW blatantly using plugins in TOP and DSR in party finder to get their clears. You could not find a single party that didn't use Automarkers and streamers that did Ultimates showed it on full display.

With so many "professional" gamers that rely on streaming to pay their rent, I doubt it'll get better anytime soon.

SE could ban mods and use anti-cheat software, but they know most of their revenue comes from ERP-ers.

Taking Ultimate in any capacity seriously while those 2 tools exist is a not not even once kind of deal. And I didn't even mention Cactbot. That shit's for amateurs.

Hell, kill the entire Puni.sh library. That shit is what's made dalamud a cheating platform rather than QoL and modding.

World First has always been some meme gamer shit anyway. There is no official race, and teams owe it to no one to stream their progress.

As far as Echo and Frosty doing their best to run a Race to World First event, they gotta accept that they will only know who is first from their sign ups and can't truly claim World First because there is no way to know without SE's involvement.
