Beal buyout happening, heading to the Clippers after he clear waivers
Is that good or bad for the Clippers?
it's quite good, given they were missing norm powell - whom they swapped for john collins to give them actual size AND run and jump viability at the 4 (which also that lets kawhi play SF, as he was at the 4 all of last year)
powell was really strong for the team for most of the season but after ASB he fell off a cliff from an injury. he never got back to form and he cost us several critical RS/playoff games by being pretty bad. the team was really leaning on him to provide solid scoring punch as harden's abilities in that aspect had diminished. beal now gives the team a better option in that role.
btw pretty nuts when you think about the impact of mat ishbia on the suns franchise
Powell for Collins and Beal is a major upgrade, tho they're both big injury concerns, especially Beal. he hobbled his way through every year here to the point he was often barely a replacement level player on the court.
but, the situation was very bad for him and the Clipps are giving him what 5 million a year? easy choice for a guy who can still get you 20 in his sleep and hopefully healthier will integrate into a team offense a lot better / play defense.
only 2 games away when Giannis realized Ayton ain't have that dog...
Beal for ~6 mil is a fantastic deal.
Dame running back to the grind.
Signing with the Blazers for 3/42
The Jrue vs Dame battle for starting PG in 2026 is gonna be wild

good for him, and portland. when will he be ready to play?
Achilles injuries are like 18 months until they see the court again minimum
Whether they come back 100% though ... Klay and Kobe both weren't the same after.

I always looked at him as a Hornet than a Clipper
