Synopsis swiped from reddit (I ain't watching all that either)
The Clippers were paying Kawhi and his uncle tens of millions of dollars through a no-show endorsement job via a 3rd company. The sole provision of this endorsement contract was that he had to be a Clipper. That's it. Literally didn't have to (and didn't) do anything else. Big middle finger to the salary cap.
And yes he got a copy of the contract.
a victimless crime

Got his hands on bank statements marking payments to Kawhi as Critical. Company was already in default and wouldn't be able to make the payment, so Dennis Wong (Clippers co-owner and Ballmer's old roommate) "invested" the money needed to the already failing company so they could pay Kawhi on time. Bonus points that Wong's daughter worked for Aspiration.
If he knew this information beforehand and predicted Ballmer was going to have an interview backing himself into a corner, knowing full well that he had way more info to the contrary, it would be insane. Game of thrones level stuff. And Cuban would have been collateral damage with his Stanning for Ballmer.
I heard y'all only watch the highlights

The NBA being hard to watch has been a complaint for years. The NFL got to where it is by being so easy to watch (which they've now been proceeding today fuck up in recent years)

Dude..
Leonard didn’t just want a max deal. He wanted unlimited access to a private plane, a house and guaranteed off-court earnings from endorsements, The Athletic previously reported. He also wanted a slice of the team itself.
No Kawhi-gate story from Pablo this week? Disappointed..
