You're delusional if you think that tariffs will stand
Love how you and salad think those post are some sick burn when they just make you guys look like tools.
A USAID HR director sent out this email today to staff letting them know he was placed on administrative leave.
Background: 60 USAID employees had been placed on leave for “undermining” Trump’s executive orders. Nick Gottlieb was told by DOGE to then fire them. Instead he emailed all of them earlier saying he found no evidence of misconduct and used his power to take them off leave. Then he was put on leave.

I was under the impression that they could only be done through executive order in matters of national security, but that doesn't seem to be stopping him.
There's nothing to cave to. Canada contributes less than 1% of the Fentanyl entering the US. The border security argument is equally farcical. We can't stop something that isn't happening.
If I didn't think he was too stupid to be so 5head, I'd be half tempted to think he's intentionally starting a trade war as justification for an invasion, because the US does not have the raw materials necessary (lumber, uranium, rare metals, potash, ect.) to support the manufacturing he's trying to push back to the US (or the capacity).
Funny enough, i'm just an outsider in this game i've been at an income level where nothing has made any significant change for any president in my adulthood. 0 changes between obama (obama care i was at an income level where i just was excluded from the fine for not having insurance but still couldn't afford insurance); trump changed nothing, biden changed nothing, so trump round 2? gonna be more of the same i'm in the tax bracket where nothing he does is gonna do a thing to me; and i'm a citizen so i'm not impacted by his immigration stuff; in my entire adult life it's been all the same no matter who's in office
I mean my taxes have almost not changed at all either, same boat there, i'm more worried about like... If he goes through with any of these Tariffs its going to hurt. Your paycheck wont see much of a change, but when everything(/a lot) you buy is 25% more expensive its certainly going to feel like you're making 25% less.
They won't let him do everything he wants, but there's going to be a lot of things they let him do. Believing the courts/law are going to be the things to keep him in check is a fucking joke. This mfer has been impeached twice (so far!) and has wriggled out of every consequence that has come his way. "Surely he won't wriggle out of consequences this time!" Him getting told no will likely just make him move on to the next item on his list then come back and try a new approach later. It's like someone said, they just need to find the hole in the fence.
It's hard to have faith in many of these courts when they are clearly biased. Did you already forget about the ruling where boneless wings are allowed to have bones in them?
I'm not going to get worked up about everything that happens, but I understand those that do.
But now you're losing Black History Month.
Most of the stuff doesn't affect me personally either (Obama's fines for not having health insurance being the main one affecting me), but there are things that can/will affect people I care about. Abortion probably being the biggest issue of them all.
Perfectly put.
Also him and his shit for brains DefSec are threatening military action against Greenland. Fucking Greenland.
But yes, don't worry about unprecedented times the courts will stop him.
I'm the least affected by far. It's the people I care about and care for that all of this hurts.
Foreign policy is almost completely left to the president's discretion, and the question is whether trade policy is foreign policy or a revenue source (more Congress' thing). In practice, it has been a shared responsibility over the years. Some things go through congress, and some things (like embargos / trade restrictions) go through the white house. What is an embargo but a tariff that requires infinite dollars? What is a tariff hut a less severe embargo? etc.
I wish someone would get rid of the sugar quotas or, if it is to be cast as public health policy, make it a consumption tax on sugar.
Big, if true:
