Look. Trump is going to set something on fire every single day for the next 4 years. If you blow a gasket every time. The terrorists win.

There's so much I want to say, but digging into the nuances of medicine, psych, and LGBTQ youth is really too much.

Trump is wiping a small subsect of the population out of existence, and as seen above, has literally erased them from the CDC. One way the government gets hospitals and clinics to comply (be it due to health violations, billing fraud, whatever) is to fine then and withhold payouts from Medicare and Medicaid. For people like Kuro and I, who work with high healthcare utilizers that are disproportionately dependent on government funded healthcare, it can really disrupt our jobs.

Trump could, and Kuro can correct me if I'm wrong, very easily direct CMS to withhold payments to providers that are simply providing care for transgender youth, even if that care is just supportive care and prescribing antidepressants and anxiety meds. That happens, it's a death sentence to any clinic or hospital. Waiting around til that happens isn't really an option and seeing as he is literally erasing the TQ from LGBTQ in science-driven healthcare orgs causes some worry.

Another issue is when you start dictating and criminalizing evidenced based medicine, it causes our malpractice insurance to skyrocket. Ask the OBGYNs how they're doing...well, unless you're in a red state. Then ask the midwife because all the OBGYNs left red states awhile ago.

Then, how much info do I put in my notes that are susceptible to a CMS audit? Do I want to out a transgender patient to the government right now? I've already told the 2 LGBTQ kids (age 15, 17) to just straight up lie on any government forms, surveys, college applications, whatever, that discuss their gender or sexual orientation.

And this is completely ignoring my parental concerns. Some people are disproportionately affected by things others may see as "small". Some little subtext about government payouts may mean nothing to you and mean financial ruin for someone else. It's important to understand that and protect yourself, your job, and your family instead of waiting until it's too late.

They're already threatening those things. They could cripple health care easily by refusing to provide CMS funding to hospital systems that treat transgender youth, despite it being a treatable condition.

But ironically, that would just fuck up red states or rural areas more since they depend more heavily on CMS funding. Nursing homes too. You thought death panels were bad? Woo.

U.S. intelligence agencies are also working to eliminate or suspend any activities that could be interpreted as supporting past DEI policies, multiple current and former officials said. Due to the firing of TSA Employess. The FAA has switched companies that compensate ATC's.....and of course, the new company pays significantly less than the current provider. Not surprisingly, employees are saying "no" to the new offer and resigning.

Because of this there is now a total lack of Air Traffic Controllers.

Beginning this weekend, the San Carlos Airport, which lies along the final approach to San Francisco International Airport (SFO), will no longer have anyone manning its control tower, and it's unclear when the airport will be able to replace them.

This might happen to other airports as well, in the future.
