basically every company that sells a physical product will be operating with a significantly higher cost of goods line, either because they've continued to buy the (initially) cheaper materials that will get tariffed, or changed to buy the more expensive domestic materials. regardless of the scenario this isn't something that companies can snap their fingers and increase their final end price to consumers to match their new cost of goods quickly

if you increase your price too much people will just buy the product that's cheaper because some other company is willing to eat the increased cost of goods but minimize the hit to their bottom line elsewhere (usually labour via layoffs)

The kind of backlash that does this is usually country wide strikes and stoppage of labour along with rolling protests (ie.Ukraine's Maidan Revolution). Trump and that fucker Musk are going to keep doing this shit until they push people beyond the breaking point of what they can take and honestly I would love to see a massive Blue Deluge (ie. 2/3rd majority in both houses) that sunk Trump and his Republicult so bad that they'd never come back from it the same if at all as the ultimate karmic comeuppance for the decades of corruption they've peddled. It's disgusting that a convict is President of the US but even worse is all the parasitical billionaires that are marching in his wake and those people are more dangerous because those are his enablers that do the long term damage.
