I don't actually think they'll repeal the ADA lol

Yeah man, it didn't work back when we used fucking ham radios to communicate across the country, so can't work now, in a completely different age. In a completely different media environment. Gotta avoid those Reagan-era strategies that failed us. That's the fucking spirit of the party that's let the same people run the party for...exactly that long.
Fucking Christ.
The two attorneys in the thread are like "but precedent from 40 years ago...." As if it's fucking relevant. Y'all will make great war room strategists for the DNC. Fuck, I bet David Axelrod instantly orgasm'd reading that defense of the moderate Democrat.
If I could have anyone it would be AOC. She could still use some more experience, but she definitely doesn’t give af about doing what she thinks is the right thing to do.
With that being said, this isn’t the time to risk propping up another woman, sadly.
i don't know how any Democrat wins the presidency these days. the erosion of education, the insidious robustness of anti-intellectualism, and the efficacy of constant fear-based propaganda seemingly cannot be beaten by sincerity and sound argument
but yeah, maybe don't run a woman for a decade or two
On a note, Chris Murphy is slowly making waves for trying to stand up to the repubs. Maybe we need to look into him more.
Okay but it's hard to sell the progressive candidate when they're a vanilla white man. The ones crying the loudest for a leftist won't ever accept that a white man with actual odds of winning an election is progressive enough just like when Biden did so much for these progressives and the things they wanted but they don't acknowledge it because he's an old white man.

Y'all are really wasting a lot of breath talking about who to run in an election that isn't going to happen.
The next "President" is going to be appointed, not elected.
If you think anyone is safe, think again. Besides the .01%

Just watch...the...video. Literally lays out things they can do in order to jam up the gears that they have the power to do. I can't lay it out any more plane then that. It's explained again and again they don't have the power to make change but they do to make shit annoying. They can call for quorum on every vote which means there has to be a count done, every time instead of just agreeing with decorum that you shouldn't do that.
Literally everything you're asking was addressed in the video. Mute it, put CC on and watch it.Like, what are you both smoking that you think Democrats could have delayed or annoyed on this?
0% because they haven't been able to run? lol you fucking kidding me? Biden barely won and only because we had a global pandemic that we just dealt with. Clinton is from an age where dems were more left then currently. He won twice, Gore arguably won, Obama won twice, Biden won... That's a 67% success rate vs. liberalism's 0%?
But you're right, lets throw another Harris or Clinton or Biden at an election if it happens and then when they fail go "oh well see it was the damn leftists and protest votes that fucked us!"
I don't buy the idea that progressives wouldn't fall behind a white guy, either. Walz was popular as the VP pick until the DNC muzzled him after the weird prompt. Bernie has basically been the token white guy rep for decades, but was also actively maneuvered against and is legitimately too old to be a consideration now. I'm with others on finding Newsome radioactive, but in some ways he's also been regressive. So let's just keep him away. And yeah, we're not ready for a woman.
But hey, this is what not cultivating younger blood and constantly creeping rightward in policy (negotiation) gets us. You have almost 90 million people out there who didn't vote, and in an age where escaping any sort of political commentary unless you're living off the grid, the fundamental question that needs to be asked is why. Do they just not care? Do they not feel represented by any candidate presented? Is it just out of spite? Answers aren't mutually exclusive and there are likely more, for sure, but when progressive policies consistently poll popular when you detach party affiliations, maybe, just maybe, there is an appeal to an actual left out there to be had. It's just that allies to be had within the Dem party need to make it absolutely clear they will not sandbag, sabotage, or cling to this whole "nothing will fundamentally change" shit that's got people pissed off while riding their hypocrisy of wanting/needing leftist support and not throwing them a bone because it'd offend the unicorn undecideds or actually-right-wing-moderates.
Even if state level and other legislative struggle kiboshes Trump enough to keep the world from exploding, staying the course of the past 40 years will just guarantee yet more regression. We've got a couple generations of adults that have succumbed to the declined education system and signs point to kids now being just as bad, if not worse. Not only does that need to be fixed, and not in the GOP way, but we frankly need a sincere discussion that a lot of adults under 50 need to get this glut of disinformation that's out there deprogrammed from their brains. But tyranny, I'm sure, so let's just focus on getting new blood that isn't a fucking lesser evil.
You guys do understand that leftist policies constantly poll incredibly poorly right?
Actually no, it's the messaging that polls poorly. Stuff that helps the working class is actually popular. They just don't market it that way. "we're going to help you but a house by giving you a tax credit" is great, but if you already can't pay for one how the fuck does it help?
I said this before during the whole Biden Boom bullshit on this forum. Who cares what numbers are if your voters don't know or see how it helps them?
If they can't find a way to sell a policy to the average voter then it's a shitty policy.
