p much it. i think the vast vast majority of individuals in the medical field do not gouge their customers or have any vested interest in prolonging illness, most i have worked with seek to ease the burden on the patient if anything, but the structuring systems are incentivized towards profit and there is only so much any individual can do as suboptimal healthcare services are provided inefficiently nationwide. it ought never be forgotten that among all high-income countries American healthcare is both the most expensive and the least effective.

if there was ever a time to see democratic complacency in plain view, this is it. it gets easier to see why turnout was depressed for kamala, as it tacks on yet another big factor as to why she lost (among a sea of many). dems should be fighting for every scrap possible like their hair is on fucking fire, and that's just not the case.

On a more sensible note - The Democratic Majority Whip Sen. Durbin probably has the calculus done to allow Harris a scheduled vacation for these votes. GOP decided to fumble on this. Otherwise Schumer would not bring these appointments to a vote.
