So you concur, he was convicted of a real crime and escaped any consequences of said conviction (for state crimes) because he won a (federal) election. The entire goal of the trial was to prosecute a crime. He was convicted. Then comes sentencing, of which he would have seen penalties, but did not because he won an election. Literally anyone else would and has faced penalties of some official capacity for the same crimes, but he wiggled his way out of it. Y'all want to construct responses and complaints about other people's frustrations as if this isn't the truth of what happened. If you're going to chime on these things you should at least be honest about it.

The average American definitely doesn't understand the forces that keep the federal workforce working for the federal government at a -20% pay premium compared to comparable jobs in the private sector. We'll see what happens here. If done differently, I could see a world where we do most of these things and they lead to a good outcome. That doesn't feel like the point here, though.

You have zero reason to be confident this would have happened. None of us know what would have happened because he escaped sentencing for his conviction. He didn't get to escape appeals for his Jean Carrol case, and is on the hook for being liable for sexual assault. He definitely didn't wiggle his way out of that and people like to pretend that never happened because then they can say things like you did and feel confident about it.

He wasn't and hasn't been immune to things he did before the presidency. I think that leads credence to the thought that he would have faced at least financial penalties if the sentencing wasn't suspended. Again, we gotta be honest about these things.
