I will say the irony of people freaking out about Trump's incrementalism after yelling at me for years about how it doesn't work is delicious.

This is Republicans testing where the line is. It's a fucking problem even if you live in Hawaii.
This same complacency is why we are where we are. So much of the horrible shit trump did started out as state laws being passed. The entire fucking abortion case came about from states pushing the boundaries of what is and isn't legal and what they can and can't get away with. The abortion challenges ramped up when states tried to impose some very obscure healthcare safety standards (like hallway width) on abortion clinics.
The small shit matter. Republicans tapping the fence fence of democracy to find any holes IS A FUCKING PROBLEM.
It's a problem for them to figure out, not a problem for you and your ability to do nothing about it, to worry about.
Yell and rant and post and handwring until you die from a coronary, they'll just keep doing what they're doing.
Are you fucking new here?
Fuck man, I'm clearing out all my afternoon appointments and just telling my anxious patients that they can't do anything. It's for others to worry about and I'll see them in 6 weeks because some idiot doesn't actually understand how human emotion has an effect on people said "eh".
Fuckin n00bs
don't disagree there can be overreaction to Trumpean and conservative movement but if the only time you post about them is to feel superior by admonishing others for caring too much you're kinda acting the shitbird nay
As a parent, it's hard to read that I'm just "handwringng" when I spent a fucking hour talking to my oldest child, who is understandably confused and scared, about how we need to go about filling out college applications and forms to avoid getting him flagged for being transgender.
That's a legitimate concern of mine. And this administration has given me ZERO fucking reason to trust outing my transgender child on a government form.
So yeah, there's some understandable "freaking out" and being told it's handwringing speaks more your privilege than those who are actually worried.
but why are you irrationally freaking out over something as insignificant as your child's well being over an administration and a movement that has continually vilified their identity
Sanewashing turning Gitmo into a camp for migrants is some next level shit and people should be cautious. It's not doomsaying to point out parallels to Nazism and Trump's use of executive authority to mimic this as dangerous and worthy of concern. The end of the world? No. But normalizing it is setting a dangerous precedent that will land us in equally dangerous territory while claiming "the legal system can deal with this".
Felons can't be President, and Presidents can't own businesses. What is the legal system doing about it?
So sit down and shut the fuck up with this "don't worry about it" bullshit.
If he wants to build concentration camps, he's going to do it, no matter how mad you get about it.
Man shut up. It's fine to want to take a break from all this and bury your head in the sand. Godzilla knows, I've been feeling detached from a lot of it and trying to slow down how much news I consume for my own sanity. But if you're gonna bury your head in the sand then stop harping on about others who don't want to do that. Enjoy your sandhole in silence.
Sometimes I think we (Kuro and I) take it for granted that pretty much everyone we surround ourselves with open up completely and share some very difficult conversations that maybe some of even their loved ones simply do not see or hear. Maybe the public really just fail to understand what these people go through.
My dude Trump has been President for just over a week and the ink on these executive orders is barely dry. Dude has already been shit slapped by the courts once already maybe don't tank your mental health terminally worrying till the legal process has the necessary time. Unless you're a federal employee then yeah I'd say you have every right to freak out.

I have a coworker that has a daughter marrying a very white Norwegian with a PHD. They are in the states and he's here legally. Even they are nervous because of the amount of chaos and speed, they have no idea what to expect. And this admin has shown to just throw out EOs without thinking about the peripheral effects. This is something that he never had to think about last year.
That shit WEIGHS HARD AND HEAVY even if you can't do anything about it.
Not being able to do anything about your situation isn't a get out of jail free card for mental and physical health. This is a fucking real conversation and I can't believe I have to explain anxiety like I'm talking to a 5 year old.
not sure if you are aware but even outside of legislation this does nothing but drive up anti-lgbtq sentiment among the right and their supporters regardless of the legality of it sooooooo yeah tyche should probably be pissed
"Have you thought about maybe just...not getting anxious" is, apparently surprising to some, ineffective.
