Only did 2 games so far as a duo, and second game our rando was a boss.

So 50/50 so far for me.

did a solo run earlier for fun, managed to beat two sets of gank bosses at night (demihumans and the tree sentinel cavalry) but uh, fighting the nightlord solo was rough

you don’t have to beat all the nightlords to unlock the final boss

but yes, i took off work Friday and beat it last night, about 20 hours of playtime but i still have stuff to do (2 unbeaten lords, the only character I’ve played so far is the raider and I beat his questline but need to do the others)

i like to think im pretty good at video games

but i will say once i got past the first two bosses it definitely seemed like the quality of play from teammates went up

i think i did my fair share of carrying the first two days (i usually ping the map) and probably had good randos for the boss fights. i went 1/1 on three different bosses. the first boss actually handed me the most losses before a win

also, as you play, some of the relics you randomly stumble across will help, but it’s all rng based. you can get ones that increase how many runes you get through the run or turn your heals into aoe heals, and those help a lot if you’re lucky enough to roll them

game patched overnight

solo play: one automatic revival per nightlord fight (along with the item you can get), better rune drop rate to level up faster. can’t test for myself til later but people are reporting solo play is much easier now, much easier to get to max level per run

also for both solo and multiplayer, better quality relic drops if you reach the day 3 boss, and also better possible quality relics from the gamble shop

i only did a couple solo runs to get through one character quest progression, my plan was to play the game “as intended” first and then play solo after

i think the game is fun but there are valid gripes about the depth of randomization and that multiplayer can be a chore if you don’t have an actual group to communicate with

the new bosses are all bangers though, only one boss kinda sucks imo but i can see what they were going for

oh and i have fought all the recycled bosses so far except for one (nameless king where are you), they all play really well in their updated forms. again, my main complaint is the game was 100% leaning on “hey check out these cool old bosses” from the debut trailer, they knew what they were doing showing centipede/freja/nameless king in it, and it falls flat there and really plays more like just an elden ring roguelike instead

which is still fine, im having fun, but yeah

again, the dlc already says “we’ll add more bosses” so that’s my hope. but uh, if that’s the plan, this screams “we released the game before it was finished” to me

raider is my favorite character. not just because bonk but has good hp and poise to withstand everything

in order to platinum you need a win with every character so that’s what im working on now (while working on their remembrance quests at the same time, though you don’t need them to plat); doesn’t have to be against the final boss, just a win against any nightlord with each character. not looking forward to learning how to mage

unfortunately my move is now in full swing so the ps5 is going to be on hiatus at some point in the next couple days

sadly i didn't know about the remembrance quests when i beat heolstor so i missed out on the busted ass wylder earring

i'm not sure how much game i have left to go cause i really have no interest in any of the characters besides wylder, executor, and maaaaaaaybe ironeye?

kinda feel like if i clear all the bosses solo on wylder/executor i can put the game down.

you can still do the remembrance quests after the fact for their rewards, you don’t get locked out of them
