{Early Access) Kyora - Open World Multiplayer Starbound

    Developed by Pugstorm (Core Keeper)
From the creators of the multi-award-winning mining sandbox, Core Keeper, comes an all-new mystical multiplayer adventure…

Cross into a realm of ruins, where every pixel is a tool to create something new. Mine precious resources, craft physics-altering wands, take on powerful bosses, and build your base by terraforming the world around you.

Journey into the unexpected, in a procedurally-generated open world. Carve into the earth or sculpt toward the sky in search of magical materials. Craft matter-manipulating wands, upgrade your gear, and take on the powerful bosses in control of each biome: the Heralds.

Let loose your sandbox creativity with pixel-by-pixel terraforming. Build bridges to new areas, sculpt and customise your dream base with terrapixel materials, or even use your terraforming powers mid-battle to construct platforms and cover.

The world of KYORA is filled with secrets. The further you venture, the more dangers await. To survive KYORA’S forest-cloaked ruins and cross its blistering desert sands, you’ll need to use each biome’s resources to your advantage. Gather materials, forge powerful weapons and armour, plant seeds and cook up recipes to help you traverse the wilds...

It’s dangerous to go alone! Bring your buddies with you to combine skills, creating fun synergies between wand abilities, in up to 8-player online co-op gameplay.

Starbound was one of my biggest let downs coming from a Terraria high, not that it was a bad game, in fact I'm more frustrated that it felt unfinished, like they never truly explored the gameplay concepts it presented either in the Metroid-like abilities or the idea of having all these worlds to explore, the Zero G mech environments, and so on. All felt like we got a demo of their concepts but never really had a reason to interact with them. Ore/gear progression felt light, exploring harder planets seemed unrewarding, All in all it felt like if Terraria had stopped before Hard Mode update, and also didn't have any cool unique weapons. It just felt like half a game.

Mods added a lot that were good, showed what you could do with the static-dungeon type concepts, but yah... mods arent the base game.

Hear good things about Core Keeper too though TBH, and I /love/ this genre of game.

So in that sense, I'm a little excited for this but really hope it brings more to the table than Starbound did, cause Terraria 2 is coming out at some point if I recall and Terraria 1 is still getting updates.
